This team shows more passion, togetherness and "getafterness" than last year's team-we just look sharper;
we still need much better defense against drives to the basket and otherwise;
Bradley didnt have such a bad defense but our cross court passes gave us open looks;
I liked Sherri's substitutions tonight;
our ball movement was very good and we keep it up will give us a chance every game;

As usual I'd love to see better defense and more rebounds.
They had the sound off during the halftime activities and that P____s me off. (Internet coverage on SoonerSports)

Agreed, if I have one gripe about this team, they are a little too unselfish. It's okay to take the open shot in the lane, please don't over pass.

Random thoughts indeed after this game.

From a time management perspective I like what Sherri is doing with Maddie, Gabbi, and Kornet. Let us give Maddie time to just get her groove back like Stella. She has 3 more years after this one of playing time if she decides to play them all. With OUr depth and hunger for success I am OK with her letting the game come to her. On the flip side, lets start Gabbi and just leave her on floor. Of course, Sherri pulled her quick and put Maddie back in when Ortiz started to get a little wild. But I was waiting for Gabbi to try to take the game over like she was doing in Wisconsin. And she will in time. Also, Kornet has settled down and is playing very well. The next level has slowed down for her and she is making the right plays within the flow of the game.

Kaykay is really good. I agree that her foul trouble has been an issue but she has been on the court more and been very effective. And she has a couple young ladies that can take the pressure off her.

L Williams reminds me of Sharane in the sense that they signed an under the radar local kid that, at least to me is better than whatever they were projected. I have been watching youtube clips of Gabbi since she signed but never factored L Williams into the equation when I was looking ahead.

I could go on about the rest of the guys because I like the whole roster and it is rare that I feel that way (at least on a basketball level).

Washington has a great player and that is a good win. The last two games were very winnable. OU vs Kentucky and the rest of that field is another step. I really want them to do well.

Had a few tears in the eye tonight when Dale's Jersey was put where it belongs. The guys responded like they should. To bad we can not retire her Jersey every night.

Well, I put my thoughts about the game in the Treece or Vivi thread, so won't repeat. Will say that this team has the "it" that last year's did not. I thought maybe last year's team started off with IT but when on the trip back east that they lost their confidence.........don't really know, but it seems something fell off.

Hoping this team is better after their road trip.

I think Maddie is doing what Sherri wants at this time. She is getting everyone involved. Some of her passes have been the best that I have seen at OU since 2002. She can thread a needle. It gets people an open shot.

She hit Peyton with a bullet pass from the right wing while Peyton was alone under the basket. It may have been the only layup that Peyton has missed. She was too open. Cost Maddie an assist. I think Vivi was there to get a putback on Peyton's miss. But, that kind of pass let's people know that if they get open, they have a chance to score. It makes everyone work.

From what the Tubbs was saying, Maddie knows that she can shoot. She has been the best shooter in practice, especially from outside. But, we get more done if we get everyone moving instead of milling around outside looking for a three-pointer. Maddie and LaNesia are doing the best job of making something happen right now.

I wish Maddie would start shooting more.

I think she will as she gains more confidence in her shot. If she gets comfortable shooting the 15ft jumpshots, I think we will see her taking those shots that she is passing up now.
