RE: Jimmer in the NBA

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

it's all about defense..
Bingo. He can shoot the lights out, but if he's a sieve on the defensive end he's got no chance of sticking around in the NBA. But they'll give him a serious look because he's in range when he steps off the bus.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

ya know...I useta think that whole thing about "it's racist because you only compared him to other white guys" had some merit.

but it doesn't.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

Some of Jimmer's actions remind me (slightly) of Andre Miller. Not the shooting part, obviously. Miller can't shot past the free throw line.

How does that explain Steve Nash? He is a 2 time MVP and doesn't really play defense.

Because Nash's limitations (defense) don't outweigh his contributions (leading a team).

I think that's something he's earned over time, not when he first got into the league.

Unless he ends up with the Knicks or Warriors, then he'd stick around just fine.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I have said it before and I will say it again, "The Jimmer" (Your Welcome, Coolm) is very similar to Lindsey Hunter, when Hunter was at Jackson State. Probably a little better shooter than Lindsey, but Hunter was probably a little better defender. Over time Hunter became a good defender which led to a long and successful career, if "The Jimmer" (again, your welcome) commits to playing defense in the league, I believe he will follow a similar path.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I dont really think he will be that good in the NBA.

I thought the same thing about:

Dejuan Blair
Kevin Love
Tyler Hansbrough
Stephen Curry
Carlos Boozer
Carl Landry
Roy Hibbert
Luis Scola (when he first came over)

and a few others.

Jimmer may or may not be a good pro. Hell, he might not even make a team. But it wouldnt surprise me if he turned out to be good, just like a bunch of other guys that people thought would be average players and maybe not even make it.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I would be good if he could end up with the Jazz.

Stockton vs Jimmer will be interesting to watch.

Re: Jimmer in the NBA

I expect him to have an Eddie House type NBA career.
