Recruiting Update

I agree that she has some skills but what I liked about her most is that she elevates when she shoots and when she attacks the boards. Most big girls don't want to get off of the floor. She is 12-18" in the air. That is good. Also appears she can effectively use the board on her shot which is a Sooner weakness.

I agree, uses the glass very well, can get off the floor, drives from the wing with authority, and rebounds. She plays similar to Caton, just don't know he she can step out and hit that 15 footer. I would love to have her in our group of kids.

She was 8 of 16 from three last year.

A little recruiting news, and we jump like sharks to blood. I have been watching Ortiz's movements to try to get a feel for Hillsman. Aren't they friends?

Last home football game weeked before November signing period starts.

Pretty sure that Lon has a couple of kids coming in. Would be nice if Sherri
had a visitor or two.

By the way Prospects Nation has Pierre-Louis ranked #63 and the #9 post player.

I absolutely love her tape. I hope sherri sells out to get her. I think she could be an important player.

For me, spock hit it on the head. I like girls that can play with their feet off the ground. Not many high flyers in the girls game. She elevates when shooting and elevates when she rebounds. She is very smooth and natural in a crowd. Kind of agree with whoever said she doesn't look 6'4, but I like her at any height.

Spock, apparently we think alike on this girls. Thinking like me should scare you.

Sherri has not had success bringing in a quality center since Courtney and Abi. It would be great if she could turn that around.

I completely agree. I don't know why but we see girls on many teams who do not spend much effort jumping. Jumping and using the glass is something players learn at a very early age. Why some get away from the fundamentals of basketball is beyond me.

I've just been told that Khaalia Hillsman's AAU people have a strong hand in what info. gets out regarding her recruiting.

It might be impressive to a recruit, if we can show up for the srcimmage. I think if a 1000 showed up it might help with Hillsman. I will be in attendance with 1 or 2 kids. I will keep a eye out for recruits.

Hillsman is visiting OU this weekend.

Hillsman seems to be a project. If she picked OU she could see a lot of time early because she fills a position of need for us, but I expect her to have a freshman year similar to Nicole.

Midwest Girls Basketball Report has Hillsman ranked #3 in the midwest right behind Ortiz. I don't know if they are ranking them on how they play now or on potential but that is pretty impressive.

I heard that Penzo is a big wing player who is not super quick but is very smooth with good skills who should be a high level role player.

Cox and Mulkey should look at OU. Volleyball team just beat TCU. Improve to 17-4. They just might be the players to excel the volleyball and basketball teams.
