I'm too far out of the loop, like only access to ESPN out of the loop. Anyone know who we are likely to get to commit, or make a decent run at any top talent guys?

I believe the answer to your question is ... No, we do not know. At least I do not, and I am always looking for recruiting information.

The only “real data” (useful information) are the reports of recruits that actually make official or unofficial visits to OU. If a recruit makes a visit to OU, then we can assume that both OU and that player are at least interested in each other. The visit usually involves an “audition” where the visiting player participates in a pick-up game with the OU team, and also gets to interact with his potential teammates. You can scan this message board and see which players have been here. So far, they have been few and far between.

My guess is that some players make visits to OU and we never here about it. Not every player makes a “tweet” every time they do something.

We occasionally see a report about an OU coach that is watching some player at such-and-such tournament. But these reports don’t mean a thing until the player makes a visit to OU.

Many of us are starved for more OU basketball recruiting information. There is just not a lot out there.

I believe you all know that I'm no troll, but I gotta admit the guy's post elicited a small chuckle from me. Lighten up guys – I believe that poster had his tongue planted firmly in his cheek when he made that comment. :ez-laugh:

This staff doesn't cater very well/easily toward giving recruiting sites information. That's why the majority of the commitment/visit scoops come from the national guys, who have relationships with the players and get stuff from them or their coaches. They simply want to fly under the radar.

This is a vastly different philosophy from Kelvin, early years Capel and most other schools. Kelvin wanted as much attention from sites to his recruits as possible (I know people like to bash Hale but I think he did a good job of covering basketball recruiting in that era). Capel and his crew clammed up after the Gallon situation began.

It's unfortunate to fans who love to follow recruiting, but it's the way they want to play this game. Trust me, if they wanted stuff out there those guys like RJ Young, Bob Przybylo and Hale would be all over it. In their defense, it's not as easy to do as it seems. I know because I've tried it and failed.
