Reschinding scholarships

Okay and it still wasn't the better than those 2 back to back teams with Price, Ere, McGee, Quannas and that group.

It was not the best season in a long time. It was the best season in 5 years. That's not a long time. I was fair on Bob Stoops based off how bad a job he was doing in 05. That team had no business being as bad as they were. And Bomar had no business taking snaps at OU at that time.

Whatever, as great as Bob Stoops is, he had a bad season as well. You are just a negative person with no life outside being a critic. Roosevelt had some apt words for you. One of these days, you might be lucky enough to have a responsibility greater than wiping your own ass, and when that day comes, you'll see what people are getting at.

In the "real world" achievers overcome adversity, and competitors fight. You think I am ripping you, but I feel bad for you. Your lot in laugh is clear based on the negative attitude you throw out...CONSTANTLY. Fire Bob Stoops. Capel on the hot seat...you've never been asked to perform under any adverse circumstance. Probably have taken the "easy" road to avoid such critique.

You are smart, thoughtful person Nick. But you are wasting it on being "objective" behind a keyboard and being dogmatic in your stances. Sort of sad really, open up, throw a little positivity in your membrane and you might be surprised. Put yourself out there and rest assured, you'll have different take on things.

Denver I'd rather have an Oleg or two than a group of NBA wannabes who won't try and disrupt everyone else. As far as I know neither Oleg nor Walker disrupted the program.

That would have been a fun game to watch. (Nick's choice vs. Mr. B's choice)

I'd take OU's team last season over every other one than 1988. UNC was so crazy good last season that they deserved to win it all, but we were the next best team.

The 02-03 team had more scoring punch at guard. And they played a little better team defense. I do like last years defense a little because the length is better. But they didn't have near the scoring punch the 02-03 team did. And that team won the Big 12 Championship, last years team had zero championships.

Ill take 2008/2009.

Whatever. Sampson has the 2nd best winning percentage among Big 12 coaches (maybe 3rd now that Self is at KU) behind Williams. Sampson could coach circles around Capel any day of the week. Sampson's problem was he made too many phone calls and text messages.

88 was the best OU team in 40 years, 1990 is the 2nd best OU team of all time, and 2002 is 3rd.

I'd say 1985 was better than 2009 because Tisdale had a better supporting cast around him. They were 1 point from advancing to the final 4, whereas last years team was pasted by UNC.

I'm sorry you want to accuse whoever of being racist because we see deficiencies with the OU basketball program. I think you may be guilty of reverse-racism...it sure seems that way.

Not saying Capel is better, but unlucky draw (due to the concussion), OU gave UNC their toughest game in route to a championship.

Please. We were getting pasted by 30. The margin of defeat may have been closer but that game was over at halftime.

You can compare scores all you want but the fact of the matter is, we got pasted in the game to advance to the Final 4.

And...the draw wasn't as much because of the concussion as it was the horrid performance at Mizzou (with Blake) and the opening loss to osu in the Big 12 tournament. Now, a case could be made that the concussion disrupted the rhythm we had going, but I would tell you this team peaked too soon. Their best game was the Baylor blowout in Norman. Even if BG plays at Texas, they would still have won, and we still would have lost at Mizzou. Probably would have beaten KU though.

lol

How do you know UT would win if Blake doesn't go out? OU wins that game and beats KU, they get a #1 seed...I suppose you don't think Syracuse deserves one as well this year.

Regardless of the last two losses, we are either a #1 or one of the top rated 2 seeds, so we don't get UNC.

Whatever. So, we disagree again. I'm tired of talking about last year. It's in the past. Time to move on.

Ok this is off topic but the 02/03 teams were really special, much better then last years team.

I recently did the Over seas thread look at the players from that team that are killing overseas. Hollis Price has had a good career in Europe, Ace McGee and Ebi Ere are stars too. Daryan Selvy is putting up numbers too.

Yes they were. Still think we were better than Indiana that year; it's just another of those 'I can't believe we lost' games. Still disappointed that Quannas and Hollis didn't get to play in front of thier home town in 03.

I think saying "much better" is overstating it. '02 was better, I don't think anyone can question that, but whether or not '03 was better is debatable.

Besides, last year's team won over 30 games and finished in the Elite 8. No team this decade was "much better" then last year's team. '02 was the best, but you could make a compelling argument that last year's team was the 2nd best.

OU definitely could have won it all in '02. That was a special team.
