Rothstein's Big 12 offseason breakdown

Not how I see it.

1) Kansas (and it isn't close)

2) WVU

3) Baylor

4) OU

Then the rest in no particular order

Top three above are self explanatory.

I have OU in fourth because they return a senior dominated team, and those types of teams tend to over perform. OU's record will, in my opinion, depend almost entirely on the 3 point shooting percentages of Manek, Reaves and williams, and to a lesser degree on whether Gibson is eligible.

Top 2 undeniable
3-7 are all 2nd tier
8-10 below average

Baylor
KU
Tech
WVU
OU
Texas
OSU
ISU
TCU
K State

Unfortunately we'll have to continue hearing about Texas every single year, no matter how bad they are.

Yeah I guess if the pundits continue hyping them each year, they are bound to be right eventually lol. But if I were a writer or broadcaster, I’d never pick them that high unless/until they actually show it.

I don’t buy Texas or wvu as some do.

I will buy WVU all day. They have an insanely talented front-court that should be more efficient this year, and I think the guards will improve drastically plus they brought in more talent.

I like Baylor, KU, Texas and OU at the top 4.. WV or Tech 5/6. WV guards aren't super great and bigs aren't as important in college basketball.

OU in the top 4? You smokin' crack?

Really? That's the tone you want to take?

I'd bet the rent you wouldn't have predicted OU would earn the #3 seed in last season's cancelled Big 12 tourney, so what makes a top 4 prediction for the upcoming season so absurd as to deserve that kind of over-the-top comeback?

Can you imagine what his prediction would be for any other team returning all that we return following a season that ended with the three seed? There wouldn’t be any hesitation in predicting big things, even if that team’s best player graduated. And there wouldn’t be discussion about how they only tied for third.

It’s too early to tell but right now I think
