They look a lot like the Rutgers teams that were so heavily recruited a few years back. As individuals, they looked good. But, they made little mistakes that get you beat, often by teams that have much less talent. You may beat a good team on a good night. But, I see UConn winning nine of ten, maybe ten of ten.
I don't see SC as a match for ND yet. UConn destroyed them. They have to learn to play like UConn plays, not just have talent.
You make very valid points but SC Looks a lot different and has a different mind set than I think Rutgers did. I don't think their is even an comparison. They lost to ND on a last second shot in the final 4 and
AT UCONN during the regular season. Name 1 team who has came within 15 of UCONN at Their place.
I still have UCONN winning another NC this year. No way anyone is stopping Stewart especially in her senior season. Now that future recruiting has Expanded tremendously, if their is anyone who can put the UCONN Goliath on hold for a while it will be ND, Baylor or South Carolina, Just my opinion as of now. Louisville has the same mindset but has yet to build on their talent.
I have to put Baylor up in that category, they might be the 2nd most hated team in America but Mulkey can recruit and coach her butt off.
I also like the direction Ohio state is going as well as Kentucky but only time will tell. Brenda Freese of Maryland is still the best X's and O's coach and recruiter in my opinion and successful everywhere she goes.
I think if OU can continue to bring in the top talent and more athleticism we will surprise a lot of people over the years, but for now it's like we are content with just 3rd place big 12 finished and NCAA 2nd round and Sweet 16 appearances. OU is a sleeping giant, I hope this year we can turn more heads and earn more respect. Still waiting for Texas to produce all the talent it has coming in as well.
I also like Duke as well, especially with the addition of Lexi brown, just hope they don't have a transfer freinzy.
After next year I think NCAA tourney will be wide open for anyone. Recruiting has taken a national toll. Kids are finally realizing their is more to life than UCONN.
