Hello, I'm Fairly new to the Board and discovered it by just
Google some of the prospects names.
I graduated and played Football at OU in 85. I live here in San Marcos Texas and my Daughter plays on one of the SA Finest teams.
I just Thought id share some info Here on the tournament that Featured some of the big name teams around.
Amber Ramirez exploded for 10 threes. Pure Shooter!
First Off, Joyner Holmes is the Truth. The First game I watched Was
Between her Dallas Heroes team with Jada Underwood, Ashlin Miles
and The Young Ok Select Team featuring Llanusa, Johnson, Franks and other young talent I was impressed with.
Holmes Skill set is there and by Far one of the best All around athletes Since Candace Parker, and still has a ton of room to improve.
Another thing, Bethany Franks of Ok Select.
One of the Strongest College ready frames I've ever seen. About 6'0 so she will Probaly play the Small foward Position in college. Gets to the Freethrow line
At Will. Did not back down from any of the bigs. Had a nice Jump shot and some nice Post Moves against Holmes. Had the ability to Bring her out to the Freethrow line and went right around Holmes finishing with contact.
Erin Degrate of United Elite, I couldn't tell if she was a lefty or not but at 6'5 she has a nice touch around the rim kind of like a Courtney Paris. Very Soft Hands strong body. Reminds you of a Cokie Reed.
I got to watch Brooke Alexander against one of the Ok teams as well. Funny thing is I didn't know it was her until someone yelled out her name. She seemed
Average, she can hit the open 3 but that was about it.
The SA Finest Blue game against Ok Select Premiere Red was a good game. O state, Tennessee, Baylor, Rutgers and other top Programs were all at that game. Great Matchups, Dungee vs Llanusa, Johnson vs Ramirez. But those weren't the stars of the game, Finest ended up Winning behind a spectacular Kiana Williams. They had no answer for her Getting to the rim.
Franks was just unstoppable as usual. The girl can go, and The finest 6'4 Déjà Mason was just to slow keeping up with Franks will and power. Llanusa is long and active; I like her motor it never stops running. She did a great job at defending Dungee, Dungee got frustrated and bothered at Llanusa's length a lot. Dungee is All strength. Johnson and Ramirez Were going at it. Ramirez is a pure shooter kind of like Ellenberg. She had about 8 points just off pull up jumpers. Johnson has one of the Quickest First steps that's unstoppable to stop in the open court. She got to the rim a lot Beating Ramirez off the dribble. The Ok team had another guard I liked By the name of Jay I believed they called her. She was a lefty And a heady PG.
I also got a glimpse of 6'5 Kalani Brown. She's not the quickest Post player but with time and footwork, she has the ability to Be Dominant at whatever school she chooses. The LA lady pumas also had a girl I liked By the name of Michela Wilson. About 6'1 long and Athletic.
Tournament was full of talent, Those were just some games and girls that caught my eye.
Hoping to catch some more games today.
