Season is not over yet - but lets review

You would think, but Gonzaga also does an incredible job developing players. I still think Capel accidentally did us a huge favor in not offering Spangler. I've always wondered what Spangler would have been like withouth that year in Spokane.

Yes, all his success is clearly due to the one year in Spokane rather than the four years playing for Kruger.

They were both overseas players. They are already thousands of miles from there home so I don’t think closer to their juco matters. Mason Jones is from DeSoto & Bandoo is from Ontario.

I believe ABD was speaking more to the coaches traveling 8000 miles to offer a kid and overlooking players that were 3 hours away. Not necessarily those kids interest in OU due to proximity.

If you think he'd have developed better with a year under Capel at OU than with a year in Spokane with Few, you're welcome to your opinion. It's a silly, indefensible opinon, but you're absolutely welcome to it.

I get that but most JUCOs are seen at showcases & the national tournament. Unless you have an in at a certain JUCO.

That wasn't my point at all.

not a freeman hater...BUT...

if ya going to put stats up...put in context.

yes, .5 TO a game...vs how many minutes does he have the ball in his hands?

VS a guard or even a starter who has way more opp for a TO.

Really? I thought I was pretty thorough in the statistics I offered and if I may say so, I'm generally pretty thorough when I share stats--certainly more thorough than those who have been consistently trashing Freeman (who basically offer no stats).

Is there anyone on this board that doesn't have pretty good sense of how many minutes Freeman plays? If there is, here's the rundown on turnover rate:

Turnovers per minute played
Freeman - .044
Bieniemy -- .045
Doolittle -- .053
McNeace -- .053
Manek -- .054
Odomes -- .057
James -- .060
Reynolds -- .065
Calixte -- .085

Freeman has the lowest turnover rate among our regulars (of course he handles the ball much less per minute than, say, Calixte or Bieniemy).

No, your point is to pick fights when there is nothing there to pick. Eilson’s post not only made sense, but it was benign as well...and yet u felt compelled once again to pick an argument out of thin air.

My real point is, Freeman gets grief like a player who's playing 30 minutes a game and hasn't scored since November. It's a standard phenomenon on this board, year in and year out: One guy gets singled out for criticism. Last year, it was Lazenby, who was undeniably underwhelming at best, but who averaged just five minutes per game on the season (his turnover rate was .061 per minute played) and so did no particular harm. The at-times laser focus on him was beyond puzzling.

One correction: On the season, Lazenby averaged of 4 minutes per game. In the games in which he actually played, he averaged 5 minutes per.

Well said. Also, amazing how low JB's rate is for the primary ball handler. My blood pressure increases every time we have to take him out for a rest!
