Sherri Coale to be Inducted in the Women's Hall of Fame

From the article:

Coale has led Oklahoma to three Final Fours since taking over the program in 1996, and the Sooners have made the NCAA Tournament in 16 straight years.

"I think when you think about how she took a job that's not an easy job, in her hometown, and then played in three Final Fours and a championship game and built a program that's as good as anyone else in the country, that's something," UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. "Her being an ambassador for the sport that she is and being a great teacher, she represents everything that's good in our sport. Those are the people we should be celebrating. I'm thrilled for her."

The highlighting was mine.

Congrats to one of my faves Sherri Coale @SoonersWBB for her HOF induction!

Coach Woods is an assistant basketball coach at Tulane.

I, along with all OU fans, am proud of Coach Coale not just for this Hall Of Fame honor, but for the class way she represents OU, women's basketball, and Oklahoma-- which is a big part of her selection. And a h3!! of a good coach!

Hard earned, well deserved and she honors the award.

Quite simply, Sherri Coal is the entire package: great person, great OU role
model, great basketball coach. One of the finest hires by any university ever.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Ollie. Well, actually, yes I could have. But only a little better. :ez-laugh:

Very pleased for my fellow Carter County alum (she's from Healdton, although her mom lives in Ardmore - which is where I graduated).

Too bad there had to be one negative nabob over on Hale's site. If you have a user profile on that site, go down-vote the chump. I already burned my one and only down-vote.
