If you had told me before the game started that OU would shoot 34.3% from the field and only make 1 of 11 (11.1%) from three in today's game, I would have said we would lose by thirty or more again.

Our kids managed to stay in the game by being aggressive, shooting well from the free throw line (15-18 for 83.3%) and out rebounding a bigger Baylor team by 8. More importantly, 19 of our 38 boards were on the offensive end.

Despite our shooting woes from the perimeter and our inability to contain Dunn and Udoh, I liked a lot of what I saw today. I will never be satisfied with a loss regardless of how well we perform as a team. But there are some reasons to be encouraged going into the Big 12 tourney, and in looking forward to next season for that matter.

We also saw what happens when you pass the ball to the inside guys. If we didn't do that we would have lost by 20.

2-18 from the three point line, 2-18. If we shoot anyway close to normal we win the game.

You are correct. My percentage was accurate, the number of shots and makes was not. You are also correct in that anywhere close to a decent shooting percentage from the perimeter today and the outcome could have been different. Our bigs gave us every chance to win. But our back court simply could not get the job done on the offensive end.

Who would have seen that coming? This team truly cannot catch a break. They played pretty good but managed to have their worst day from the 3 point line this season (and probably ever at home).

As a team this year we are shooting 43% from the field and 35% from three. Only TMG is shooting well from beyond the arc. WW and Pledger have been the worst, but Cade and Tony (especially the last 5-6 games) have not been consistent enough. Many of those today and throughout the year have been open shots....shots we've watched other teams make.

This was supposed to be a strength of this team but it hasn't been.

And yes, if we shoot 6-18 today...which is normal for us, we win.
