These are the field goals and FG attempts in the past three games for Gioya, and the three pointers and three point attempts. These translate to 27.02% and 27.27% over the past three games. Gioya was shooting over fifty percent during our winning streak. She was even hitting over fifty percent of her threes. She has cooled off.

It is fortunate that some others have stepped up. I hope that Gioya finds a happy medium. You can't expect someone to hit 57% of their threes forever.

I don't think it will be feast or famine with her. I am looking for her to make more of her shots and like you said, she is probably not going to shoot 57 percent but believe she will be a consistently good shooter.

I just finished watching the game on the internet. Carter, disregarding her shooting, played a really good game. She made some great passes and got 8 boards or was it 7? And she didn't foul. She also passed up some threes which was probably smart. She wasn't hitting and others were. She also tipped a shot (guess not a block) under the basket which kept an ISU player from scoring and she did it without fouling. (under the 3 min mark...maybe 2:58) So, though she did not shoot well, she did not let it affect the rest of her game. That might be more impressive than if she had been making her shots....just seeing her play well, in spite of.

You're absolutely right, womenssports. Gioya absolutely was productive, despite not shooting particularly well, against Iowa State. The reality is, we may not have won the game without her.

I rather have Gioya than not have her on the team! Promise you that!!!

You bet! It was unrealistic to expect she could maintain those lofty early stats all season long but, if she can settle in as a 45+% field goal shooter and 35+% three point shooter, we will win a ton of games.

She didn't shoot well but shooters keep shooting and impact the game in other ways. Me personally I think she was worried about getting in foul trouble which makes her not aggressive on both ends of the floor. Can't drive to the rack if you're worried about picking up a charge. She'll do better I can promise you that!

She just needs to cut out the reaching fouls after something goes wrong. Don't ever want her to lose that aggressive approach offensively.

Even if she's not hitting, here athleticism and aggressiveness put the defense on tilt. They have to respect her and it opens up the floor. She'll be fine.

Yep those be the frustration fouls! We tell her about that all the time!
