Well, some things never change - Smart is starting off flopping again. That 3 point shot where he flopped he never got touched. You would have thought the coaches over the summer would have been in refs ears to watch that like a hawk. Amazing, he is a good player but because of the one and dones he will move down about 5 or 6 spots. Costly decision!

At least a few thousand empty seats - all the media told us was it was sold out NOT. Interesting they can have a top ten matchup and not have a full house.

Didn't say anything about that - my post was about his flopping. He was famous last year for that

He got hit on the right elbow/forearm on the foul.

Geez...Jay Bilas is going to build a shrine to him.

That's one thing I truly hate about him..is the damn flopping!! He's a great player, no denying that...but come on dude with the floppin! It gets old! You tell me how a 235 lb guard who's built like a LB gets knocked to the ground like that by someone brisking his arm!! It just cheapens the game and is borderline cheating. No need for it. I wish there was a rule in college to where a player got a personal fould called on him if thr consensus was he was indeed flopping to get a foul call. Pathetic.

^ This" !!

Byron, you know I'm not changing, lol. Just stirring the pot :-)

Smart had a terrific game, not just his scoring. But on the 3 where he fell down he clearly kicked out his leg to draw contact. The NBA has consistently called that an offensive foul over the past 2 or 3 years.

You know it's officially college basketball season when Vinny is starting threads about Marcus Smart flopping.

:woot

Jeff is just an angry Aggie, lol. Read the other posts Jeff, the other Sooner fans see it too. He will have to learn NOT to do this in the NBA or he will get fined a ton and eventually suspended. He should do himself a favor and learn to do it now - since it is cheating IMO. This thread was started to honor Byron and Jeff, LOL

It's an inferiority complex! You can't be an Aggie without it!!!

You must not watch much NBA vinny. Guys get fined for maybe 1 out of every 5 flops. Ask tony parker.

You are very wrong Mr OSU. Probably watching NBA before you were born, lol. He will get fined and get a reputation with the refs. They know who flops and he will have to quit. He is a very good player and it takes him down a few notches when he feels like he has to do that crap. I don't care if it was an OU player - DON'T DO IT. It's trashy and not part of the game.

Well parker and ginolbli wouldn't be getting a pay check if they did call it accurately. They do it on the offense end rather than on defense. I'm not here to debate smarts flopping. He did it last year. But go look up marcus smart is falling down on youtube. A kstate fan put it together and I'm sure you'll be drooling all over your computer. I just love that that guy tried to turn anything and everything into a flop. Apparently if you raise your arms to show you aren't initiating contact, that is a flop. cracks me up every time.

The problem is he initiates the contact a lot of times then throws his arms in the air as if the other player is mauling him.

Well when you're the bigger stronger guy it can look that way, but he probably does at times. Still though that isn't flopping, unless the definition has expanded all of a sudden.

Over selling slight contact is flopping.over selling contact you initiate and the fall down like you just got shot is flopping, definition hasn't changed.
