Smart's Flopping

Non "bedlam" so I hope the resident aggies can deal with it, and not exactly related to flopping, but my all-time favorite was Byron Eaton's near death moment in like every game. Small contact, dude would lay on the court for 10 minutes...reminded me of Hulk Hogan when I was a kid. Honestly, it was pretty funny.

No doubt.

Me and my friends always laughed about that. He would roll around on the floor for 5 minutes and then jump up and be totally fine.

This.

People need to get over it.

You enjoy watching guys seizure coming off picks or driving to the basket? B*tch move if you ask me.

(The guy is a great player, the flopping is what I'm annoyed with. In all of basketball.)

Agree 100%. He looks like a fish on dry land out there sometimes.

He usually felt it was necessary to go to the locker room for at least 30 seconds so he could come back out to an ovation from the OSU fans who actually thought he was hurt.

It's bad when the announcers even say the theatrics of soccer has infiltrated the sport.

I honestly don't see why so many have him as a lottery pick. I don't see how his game translate to the NBA. I know that they draft on potential and athleticism now. He doesn't just blow by players, he doesn't have a great handle and he's not a great 3 point shooter. He's not going to be able to just jump into people and get foul calls at the NBA level like he does now.

he is not a good shooter ... but he is a very good player .. he is not an NBA point and he doesn't really have a nba position (per doug gotleib)

He definitely has skills he needs to develop. I hope he does it at OSU, but I could certainly see setting up your family for life and getting paid to develop your game.

as a pure college bball fan i would love to see him at osu and mclemore at ku for another 1 or 2 years ...

as an ou fan i am happy they are both going in the top 7

I think he will become an NBA pg. He has some work to do but I think he will succeed at pg in the NBA.

Well that's... Not the rule.
I am surprises how many people seem to have not known this rule. I thought it was fairly common knowledge.

Debatable whether or not the ball went over the corner from the ref's angle, and I probably would've counted it too simply due to the score at the time and the location of the game.

++++++++

I don't see the Smart flopping (badly), but I'm a homer. Every other fan base complains about it, so obviously it's there in some form. Eaton's ability to have multiple compound fractures in every game yet still be available to play was the stuff of legend. In all seriousness, his act was pretty comical, but he did know how to draw fouls (without necessarily "flopping").

So you want officials to be intentionally biased?

I don't think anyone was being biased, but if you aren't 100% sure on that play...then you let it go. Remember, the baseline official is not allowed to call that out of bounds over the backboard. It is supposed to come from the two trail officials.
