Any news on Nelly Mc injury?
acl...out for season ,,,,,guessing this is early enough to qualify for another red-shirt season, I am not sure. She red-shirted her first year. I took it that was because she wouldn't have gotten to play much.

Thanks! I was afraid of that.

I've read that she's too far into the season to get a regular red shirt but I believe she can appeal for a medical red shirt. Probably something everyone already knew though, but just in case!

Feel so bad for Nelly, this is her second major injury in three seasons

So her freshmen season redshirt was an injury? Thought it was intentional. Darn. Hope she is able to come back
strong and stay healthy. That has to be a bit demoralizing.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying.

yeah her freshman season she had shoulder surgery and before the day she blew her ACL she'd had a tender shoulder so i thought they were giving her rest, then they played her and she tore her ACL, so just seems like really, really bad luck for Nelly. She's such a great player, it's so hard to watch her go through that.

So Gauchino has given up TWO 2-run home runs in the first two innings of the game to Auburn and we are down 1-4. Exactly like Lowry did yesterday against them. This does not bode well moving forward for when we play a team with an elite pitcher and our bats can't make up these deficits.

Since this post she's given up another home run we are down 1-5 at the bottom of the third. Dayton starts the ending off with a double... Let's go!

Pickering hit a two-run homer to bring them home but Wells left stranded on third base. Down 3-5 going into the 4th. If we could go one inning without allowing them to hit a home run that would be a good start!

Pulled away, winning 8-5!! Hope to see some sharper pitching tomorrow to start the game!

34 mph wind from north with gusts to 50 or 55 mph. Not being able to hit HRs may hurt them worse than us.

Wells hit two bombs in the same inning today, however an interesting stat is Auburn hit more HRs this weekend than the Sooners did. Little concerning that a team of Auburn's caliber hit so many off of our pitchers. That tells me that we don't have elite arms on this roster. I'll probably be torched for saying this, but that IMO will probably be what keeps us from winning a Natty this season. Just like last season. Would love to be wrong!

I think we are doing outstanding with pitching considering we lost Rocha right before the season started. Not many teams could have adjusted so well that first weekend. Patty did a great job pulling it all together and Keeney deserves a lot of credit, too. This team seems to be very special. Plank said Rocha was doing well and could be back with the team in the near future. 🤞

can you believe that despite the fact we are blowing SEC opponents away, we are STILL #5 in Softball America's poll that came out today? Instead of Tennessee being ahead of us, Florida catapulted above us, up 4 spots. I just think all of these publications have Sooner fatigue and don't want us winning anymore, and are reluctantly giving us any respect, JMHO.

To be fair, the SEC teams we have swept aren't top SEC teams.

Looking a little rough against Ole Miss down 0-2 in the bottom of the third inning. We haven't so much has gotten out of their infield at the plate and they've been making solid contact against Berzon, however two errors on one play (Alyssa Parker at first) allowed them to score their 2 runs.

Update: Wells hits her 25th home run of the season bring us within one run down 1-2 going into the bottom of the 4th. Agbayani, Barker and A. Parker have been absolute rubbish at the plate. We end up losing this game somehow and you best believe we will be getting a little bit more that disrespect in the polls, rightly so though because Ole miss is winless at 0-8 in the SEC right now...

Emerling hit a grand slam to put the Sooners up 5-2 going into the bottom of the sixth. It was an absolute no doubt bomb.

Thank goodness she did because sure enough agbayani and Barker were auto-outs, as they have been essentially all series. I'm very disappointed in Barker's performance at the plate this season... Was helping she would really step it up when Nelly went down
