Another thing I like. They're all said to be fine young men with likable personalities. Their athleticism, size and huge upsides are a bonus.

I'll also add a thought for next season. With a combination of Spangler, Bennett, Lattin, Buford and McNeace clogging up the middle, I can't wait to see what happens when our opponents drive the lane on us. Should be a lot of fun!

As good off the court as ON the court... NO shady people for Lon. I hope they work on Offense day and night till they get to OU and continue to do so when they get here. Hope they are here for Summer workouts with YoYo.

Will be VERY interesting to see who starts at the 4 next year, next to Spangler. Got to think Buford has a decent shot at it.

I could see spangs moving to the four and one of the new guys plays the 5

How great would it be to land a one and done player in the late signing period, especially if he were a 3. With the roster OU has and that type of player, OU could make a nice run in the Tournament.

:woot

So much promise for the future. Almost hard to believe where we were before Lon. :krugs

Lattin was always considered the nice to have recruit. Buford was always the must have recruit. Buford will be a day one starter.

One and dones are all gone after friday. OU isnt chasing any of them.

Just from video, I think will agree with Gary. Burford is a stud.

Or, could Buford play the three where we expected Cam to be this season?

I know you're not too keen on the idea that a kid who has been a four most of his high school career can make the transition to a SF in college. I agree, it will not be easy. Yet, it seemed clear to me from his interview that he will at least get a chance to do that next season. If he works hard on his perimeter shot, and his foot speed so he can guard threes, I wouldn't rule that possibility out entirely.

It will definitely be interesting. One thing is certain, we'll have a lot more options next season.

Looking at the roster, and I know we may add 1-2 bodies to it that would change this opinion, but looking at the current roster, I don't see any way Buford gets minutes at the 3 next year. We lose Cam and Neal, both playing the 4. As of now, we are only bringing in guys that should play the 4/5 (I understand Buford COULD play the 3, but there is no doubt he can play the 4).

Just looking at the roster dynamics alone, I think Buford has to play the 4. I know Lattin and McNeace are nice, but they may not be D1 ready from day 1. Especially McNeace. I'd prefer to keep Spangler at the 5 spot. I know he runs well, and is athletic, but he isn't on the same level of athleticism as Cam and M'Baye, the last two 4's we've started.

Definitely a good problem to have, but I think if Buford is going to start the next two years, it'll be at the 4. Once Hield and his class of guards leave, all bets are off.

This is a direct quote from Coach Crutchfield, "we will always have an athletic #4."

I know this will sound crazy to a lot of you guys, but I'm just not all that high on signing one-and-done kids.

No one wants to see OU win a national title more than me – I still haven't got over losing to Indiana in the Final Four the year Kelvin had the best team in the nation. There were no one-year guys on that team, but I fully believe we would have cut down the nets if Quannas had been healthy.

The closest we've ever come to having a one-and-done was Blake Griffin, and even Blake was here more than a year. To me, one-and-done players seem more like mercenaries than actual students and real members of their school's basketball team. That probably makes me a dinosaur, but that's just the way it feels to me.

Willie warren and blake were both 1 and done guys .. that both stayed 2 years .. it worked out for blake it didn't for willie

True. But some could argue that Spangler is athletic. And I think he is, just not "as athletic" as the staff wants/prefers for that spot.

We'll know in a year.
