On an organizational chart:

I'm sure there are no solid or dotted lines of Oronde reporting to Boren or Joe C.

As far as roles and responsibilities:

I'm sure that all roles and responsibilities of a particular BB LIO signee starts and ends with Capel. He only signs on average four players a year, so he is perfectly capable of handling that.

The only way I could see Capel not knowing is someone in an organization called Oronde and told him extra-official of Tiny's debt and knew a dude that could clear it all up, and Oronde chose not to let anybody know about it.

^^That's just pure speculation on my part, but the truth will be told in about 24 months.

I doubt Boren or Joe C are breaking down video of BB recruits or even working on the day to day anything of a LIO signed BB player. At least I hope not.:vitale

Who is Brian Cook?

I repeat abd's question: WHO is Brian Cook? Sportswriter? disgruntled fan of rival fanbase? unhappy Sooner fan? WHO is he? Whoever he is, he obviously wants more than a pound of flesh, he wants the entire posterior of the OU basketball program... hell, just give 'em the death penalty, right?

That is exactly what some are saying....that nothing has linked Jeff to the money transfer scheme yet. If they do, he will be gone. If not, he will continue to be the coach. For all anyone knows, Jeff probably feels worse about this than anyone on this board since he is the HC and is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in his program.

Assuming he didn't know about it -- and that's certainly what I'm inclined to believe -- I've no doubt he feels worse than anyone. And you're right -- if he did know, he's gone. He has to be.

But I can't believe he knew. If we learn that he did, it'll be terribly disappointing.

It is safe to assume there is no evidence at this point that Jeff was involved in any way nor is there evidence that he knew of the transfer of money to Gallon and/or his Mom. Otherwise, Jeff be gone.

Bosses cannot possibly know everything their subordinates are doing.

Is it really better if our coach is completely clueless about how his assistants and players work? I think that would be a pretty sad indictment on our coach. Especially for a coach that is supposedly a recruiter first, which is how many of our fans discribe him. I'm not sure he's that good a recruiter because of the actual history of his recruits. But it looks worse for Capel if he knew nothing about how his players got here.

I agree with you.

I think when it all comes out the $3000 will be about getting three players tuition to Lebron James camp and not this bunk about getting Tiny's Oakhill tuition.

So Klegg you think everything that has gone on with USC football was minor?

Are you kidding me????!!!!???? Directly paying for players family's housing expenses and arranging for agents to meet players and boosters directly paying paying players SEVERAL thousand dollars compared to a player's mom getting a loan from a person with ZERO ties to the program???

Is that what you're asking me???

Look, I wanna make myself COMPLETELY clear on this...I actually thought I already had...IF JEFF CAPEL/ANY ASSISTANT COACH ARRANGED FOR A PLAYER (OR THEIR FAMILY) TO BE PAID, AND I STRESS PAID, FIRE JEFF!

However, IF it's similar to what happened to Ohio St, then NO, I don't want ANYONE fired.

Are you kidding me????!!!!????

No. Pete Carroll kept his job. That doesn't make what he did "minor".

Zero ties to the program? An OU assistant coach had 66 calls/texts to a guy starting in March of 2009 who gave a player $3,000 in order for him to gain eligibility to OU. The same guy was in Norman around July 1st, 2009 meeting at least one player, Willie Warren. He was in Norman on January 15th to watch WW and Tiny. I don't know how this mess will turn out but to say Hauzinger has ZERO ties to the program is downright silly.

Pete Carroll got outta dodge before all the facts came out.

Sampson got out of dodge as well as fast as he could. Again, because neither of them were fired doesn't make what they did "minor".

I didn't say anything about Sampson, I was merely answering your question on PC.

Cheno, you're losing your mind. You don't see the differences in how OU and USC deal with NCAA infractions??? USC sweeps them under a rug and denies them to the hilt.

OU SELF-FRIGGIN-REPORTS!!!!

THE ASSISTANT COACH BY ALL, AND I MEAN ALL, ACCOUNTS GAVE TG NOTHING, ZERO, NADA. Hausinger is an FSU alum. He HAD ZERO ties to the program.

Of course, I don't have all the inside knowledge that YOU do, so why don't you fill us in...SHEESH, some of the stuff you guys come up with is just SOOOOO ridiculous...

"what if" they told Capel they got a $3K loan? ANYONE can get a loan. That, in and of itself, is no big deal.

If it were this straight forward, I would think it would already be resolved and in the open. We cannot afford any more blemishes...

I agree with that, but it's foolish to speculate. As I've said NUMEROUS times, SURELY if it were more than that, you'd think Jeff would already be gone.

Someone asked this question earlier and it made me think (and maybe we'll never know due to privacy laws), but I'd like to know when the "loan" was applied for. Was the application submitted BEFORE OT got in contact with Hausinger? Was he trying to find out the status of the loan, or did he arrange for the loan? This is pretty crucial in my mind. Not that it's OK by NCAA rules to do so, but either could be logical and him checking on the status of the loan as opposed to arranging for the loan would be VERY different in my mind.
