There has been a lot of talk amongst vairous posters about the strength of the Big XII. I know a few have said the conference is not strong and only KU is a really good team.

I watched much of the Big XII Tournament and I personally disagree. Baylor, KSU and A&M look like good basketball teams to me. A&M is probably the least talented of the three and they are just not going to beat themselves. That team will force its opponent to play well and execute for 40 minutes or lose.

Baylor and KSU actually look pretty strong to me. Both schools have impressive front lines, solid guard play and depth. I think they can and both will do some damage in the NCAA Tournament.

I also think that OSU and Texas are tough first round games. If OSU is hitting the 3 point shot, they are tough to beat. Anderson is a fabulous scorer. Moses and Pilgram give them just enough inside to be competitive with most teams. When Muonelo and Paige are knocking down shots that is a pretty good team.

Texas is a strange team that has completely fallen apart but that team has talent. I would not want to draw Texas as 10 seed (and that is about where I see Texas). I suspect Texas will lose their first game but I could see them upsetting a higher seeded team, especially if Hamilton is making more shots than he is missing and demonstrates some reasonable shot selection.

I haven't see Missouri much this year but I don't think a lot of Missouri.

As to the other teams in the Big XII, I think they are reasonable basketball teams. Do you really think many conferences have teams in the bottom third with as much talent as OU and ISU? Granted they can't play team basketball but there is definitely talent on both rosters.

I think Clemente/Pullen and Tweety/Dunn are a lot better than "solid".

IMO...Mizzou will always be a tough win because the style of basketball they play is so different from any other teams in the conference.

I usually enter a couple of office pools and some online tournament brackets every year, and I'm going to have K-State in a couple of my final fours. They can't seem to beat KU, beat I think they can beat anyone else.

Baylor is a dangerous team, but they could lose in the 2nd round if their outside shots aren't falling.

A*M is a sweet 16 type of team....but I don't think they can get much further.
