I nominate Ortiz for our buggest surprise. She has turned out to be pure gold and her improvement over the season was spectacular.
Peyton wasnt quite a surprise and seemed to taper off towards the end of the year but just seems to be basketball savvy.
Maddie(I love her!)I really hope has regained her form. I'd be disappointed if she doesnt start next year. Sherri took her time reintroducing her to protect her(I think)and, if she's not back, she s so close as to make no difference.
I have huge hopes for EJ. We will really need a scrapper underneath the basket-or close enough to rebound-with the bigs coming in at Baylor and texass.

With out a doubt, Gabbi was my pleasant surprise. For a freshman I really did expect her to start, but far exceeded my expectations. After a difficult first 10 games, I thought she found her "sea legs" and was very solid the rest of the way.

Maddie, Vivi, and T'ona were my three for improvement. It took Maddie a little longer than I thought, but ended up being someone we could count on. T'ona got better and better all season long. Nothing spectacular, but someone we could depend on. I hope we see more of that next season. Vivi speaks for itself. Just pure joy to watch coming off of an injury and expect her to be even better after a full summer and spring to work on her post game.

Peyton was the biggest surprise to me. I hadn't seen her play and just had no clue she would be more than a three point shooter.

Not sure why I expected Gabbi to do as well as she did, but I did.

T'ona- T'ona improved from last season but also over the season.

Kay Kay - I expected her to be better than last season and she was. She still is not playing the way I believe she is capable. Hopefully, for herself and the team, she will have a vastly improved mental game next year.

Peyton did not shoot well in the tournament, but I really don't think it's accurate to say she "tapered off." Outside of her shots not falling consistently, Peyton played good defense, made good passes and set screens.

My best expectation for next year is that Kaylon will become the consistently great player that I believe lives somewhere inside her mind and body.
