evans hits a shot at the buzzer in OT to win it 73-71 after roach had banked a 3 with seconds left to tie it. well worth watching. so was the ISU dismantling of WVU.

Evans played horrible during Texas’ big run in second half. Then super-manned the thing, the last 7 minutes.

i agree with you but it wasn't just evans. they all played bad down the stretch until evans took over. except for roach and bamba for UT that is. i figured when bamba fouled out tech would win on the ft's.

Texas pissed this game away in regulation....eerily similar to the way we lost in Stillwater. Their supposed PG Coleman got fouled on a 3....and then proceeded to miss all three FTs. This amongst other mishaps down the stretch. We could've used a Tech upset tonight to help us in the standings.

I've always thought Tech might be a game we could win on the road. Evans scores half of their points tonight.

Bomba gets 12 points on 4-4 field goals, one of which is a 3 pointer and 3 free throws. I really don't understand how he only gets four fg attempts.....:facepalm but it's ok, it's texas.

Both teams really bad on the line late. With the exception of Evans converting all 3 on a fouled 3-pointer

coleman went 0 for 2 then 0 for 3 in succession at the line. after the 0 for 3 he picked up his 5th foul out of frustration. bamba jumped his behind for it and I laughed. bamba was having to quell their mini-breakdown. then roach kept them on life support in the OT. that team has some serious issues.

Yep. One is called smart.

I believe he is THE problem....it certainly isn't the talent on their roster. If you ask most Texas fans (who actually pay attention to basketball), they would likely tell you that he has vastly under-performed while at Texas. He has never found a PG to replace Isaiah Taylor and other than playing pretty good defense, that team really has no identity.

That big dredded red headed buffoon has balled out in a few games.

Having said all that, we will be lucky to win down there Saturday.

The way we've been playing recently, it would be hard for me to predict a win right now.

I did NOT see a team last night in UT that I feel is comparable to OU. Bamba is an amazing talent and Roach is so fast I'd love to have him on any team. But other than those 2 only the big guy with the funky hair would catch my eye. We have by far the superior group of players.

My main concern for Saturday is UT getting hot from 3. We don't guard the perimeter all that well and Roach, Davis, Febres and Osetkouski are all capable....BUT they are very inconsistent. If they don't get hot from outside and then have to rely on inside scoring and drives, then we will be in the game.

And Texas has great athletes which enables them to recover well on defense. According to advanced metrics, this will be the best defense we will face all year. We have to try our damned-est to match their intensity.

Can you name a team this year that was cold from three point range against OU? I sure can’t.

Every team we play seems to have their best outing from behind the arc. It’s been like that every season for sometime. Aside from being slow in closing out on perimeter shooters or being caught out of position in our help defense, I’m at a loss to understand why nearly every team we play has their best night from three point range? Maybe someone smarter than me can answer that question?

You are absolutely correct and yes it's a brain buster for sure. I think that OU not only gives up wide open shots, their defense is so non disruptive that they allow teams to get in a shooting rhythm. Teams are very comfortable against our defense. They've got to figure out some way to at least get other teams' outside shooters out of rhythm, at least a little...

Strangely enough, Kansas shot poorly from behind the arc against OU. They shot 31.2% against OU and shoot 40.9% for the season.

One reason teams shoot well against us is because we are awful getting back and matching up in transition.

I had an idea there might be at least one team that did not shoot their season average, but I’m betting that is not the norm for most of the teams we play. Oh, OU won that game. :)

You’re right, we don’t match up well in transition. One would think that everyone on the team knows their assignment by now, but I could name at least two players who appear to be confused way too often to suit me.
