They start 4 guards and a 6'8'' grad transfer from Stephen F. Austin.

They don't even bring another big guy off the bench, just more guards. The only other big guy they bring off the bench is a 7 foot freshman who plays 5 minutes per game and averages 1 ppg.

One 6'8'' guy.... the rest are guards. They have good guards of course, but Manek and Doolittle should have a good day and bare minimum won't get pushed around.

This will be a major relief for Brady. Feel kind of bad for him at times having to guard the 5 and getting beat up the whole game.

Certainly not the Tech squad of the last two years. Losing a #6 pick in the draft alters your team. This we know.

If this game was in Norman, I'd feel confident picking the Sooners. Playing at Lubbock is a whole different thing, however. Tech has some of the best guards in the league. We'll have to play well and shoot a good percentage to win. I realize that's no huge revelation, lol.

What was the name of the recruit who ditched us last minute and signed with Tech a couple years ago? In looking at their roster I don't see a name I recognize as his.

Guards have good size, possibly 2 first rounders.

Bad news is, they’re better than us and we haven’t exactly played well on the road in conference play except for 1 game.

While I certainly would agree this being a road game does bode well for our chances- 5 total road conference wins since 2016- what makes you say they are better than us?

They may be and the odds are we lose Wednesday, but I don't think it can be definitively said they are better. We have a better overall record and are tied in conference. They do have a better NET ranking, but if you still want to consider RPI, we are significantly higher and we have a higher total quadrant score.

This isn't Tech from the last two years.
