Welcome to the "Bow down to Texas" conference. Stupid move by OU, OSU and Tech.

I just want this crap to be over so we can start talking bball again and Cheno can come off of deathwatch

This is great news!

ESPN reporting that A&M has decided to stay as well.

The Big 12 lives!

How can you say the other 9 schools giving Texas the keys to the Big 12 be a good thing?
Pitiful.

&*^%ing horrible.

If OU stays, this is a pathetic decision that could affect us for years to come.

:facepalm

At least KU's chance of winning the Big XII every year in basketball just went down.

Cue Cheno.

Every school was going to do what Texas did regardless... OU is attached to UT no matter what.

Texas would not have had close to the pull in the PAC-16 as they would in the neutred big 12. Every decison will have to be texas stamped and approved now. In the PAC-16 at least there was other traditional powers.

This is going to be like the SWC 2.0

Exactly. If people thought Texas held too much influence before... haha...better get ready.

Why oh WHY did we do this???? Willingly attaching the fates of the UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA to Texas!

This is making me absolutely sick.

Every decision like what? What decision will UT make that affects OU?

Still waiting for someone to tell me what decisions UT will be making for the rest of the conference.

Very true. Without the benefit of a very soft Big 12 North, Kansas basketball begins it's inevitable decline towards irrelevance...

If nothing shows how nut-less everyone (including us) in the conference is it's this. Maybe Texas will let us borrow our balls when we play them so we can put on a good show for their network.

Agreed. KU's chance gotta go down. They can't go up any higher.

I think the way it was being reported was misleading in stating Texas was going to make more TV revenue, thus "owning" the conference. From what I've seen about the deal OU, UT, and A&M all gain around $20 mil, while the other schools make $14-$17 mil. I can see now why OU would stay, although I'm not sure where this extra revenue is gonna come from.

But everyone was sure where the extra revenue by joining the Pac-16 was going to come from right? Please. The Pac-10 currently has one of the worst TV contracts and one of the worst revenues of the BCS conferences.
It was a pipe dream that some were buying hook, line and sinker. Beebe and the AD's didn't rush into it, looked at the facts and talked to the TV execs and found out what they needed to know about the situation.
Again, I keep reading people say they don't know where the new Big 12 money is coming from but you didn't ask the same question of the Pac-16.
