I noticed a few comments about Texas in the bold predictions thread and I was wondering, what do you guys make of their chances this year?

Their roster seems to make no sense. They already had a log jam at PG last year with Dolgus Balbay, Varez Ward, JCovan Brown and Jai Lucas which wasn't a huge deal because they lost Balbay and Ward to injuries. But now they add Cory Joseph, who is supposed to start from day one. Does that mean they have 5 point guards????

It also seems that they aren't nearly as stong inside as they usually are. Since Barnes has been the coach it seems like every year they have 5 or 6 big men that they can rotate in and out. This year Gary Johnson is the only proven experienced big man they have and he has really been an energy/role player off the bench in his career.

thoughts?

I personally predict that at some point this season JCovan Brown flips out over something; he is due.

I think Gary Johnson will average about 15/8 for them and be a really nice player as the main guy in the post. Alexis Wangmene is a good athletic rebounder and defender... Chapman and Hill wont be very good, but they will be ok on defense and rebounding.

I think they will be pretty good...

PG: Corey Joseph (all freshman)
SG: J'Covan Brown
SF: Jordan Hamilton (all conference, 2nd or 3rd team)
PF: Gary Johnson (all conference, 3rd team or so)
C: Clint Chapman

Plenty of talent to be good.

Jordan Hamilton will single-handedly win and lose several games. Texas will be incredibly inconsistent.

There is a good chance it could happen in Norman.

Varez Ward transferred to Auburn earlier this semester so he can not be considered one of the Point Guards on the roster.

I will go out on a limb and predict they will have a lot of talent and underperform.

Well besides the fact that Texas Sucks, they will be one of the most talented teams on paper, but finish in the bottom half of the conference

They'll finish between 5th and 7th in the conference after beginning the year ranked significantly higher than they should be.

Jordan Hamilton will lead the conference in the "one pass and jack" category.
