I was out of town and didn't get to see the game. From reading the board and looking at the box score, it appears we had too many shooters who went cold on the same afternoon. We have ridden Aaryn's shooting all year. Jo has been shooting the ball well. Sharane has been making shots BTA. Griffin has been contributing. But, yesterday the outside shots didn't fall, Griffin was a non-factor in scoring and rebounding, turnovers jump back up, and losing Morgan early was a killer as well. Of all the bad things that could happen, several of them came together yesterday.
I really didn't expect us to play poorly after the way we've played lately and getting to come back to OKC. But, that's basketball. It takes some luck to continue to advance at this stage and our luck ran out against Tennessee.
This year has been a tough year due to all of the injuries. If I never see another season with this many injuries it will be too soon. I do hope we get our roster numbers up closer to 15 so we can better weather the storm if such a thing were to happen again. I will say again, you can never have too many shooters. Hopefully, Kaylon and Maddie will return this fall at full strength and the new additions will be able to contribute as well. I wish the very best to our departing seniors. They are a great group of girls and they have brought some great memories for us all.
Looking forward to a new beginning this fall and a very successful year.
