I wish when I was a teenager I sucked at basketball like Doolittle and Manec.

If Young responds like he did the first time against Oklahoma State or the first time against Kansas or anytime in 2017... If comrades Christian James and Khadeem Lattin repair their broken body language... If Brady Manek makes his first 3-points and Rashard Odomes finishes his first drive...
If all of that occurs, the Sooners can beat Rhode Island and take their chances against a Duke team nearly as allergic to defense as they are.
Looks like Andre’s shots consists of using his bulk to back in and shooting baby hooks? At 270, is Polla the only one that can matchup size wise and hold ground?
Seems like in the NCAA tournaments the refs allow the bigger players to bang into the defenders and push them off the block?
Not great for OU if they (RI) can control the tempo. I know they won't slow down our offense. The question is, can our offense, and defense, speed them up? And if they are slowing it down, will that actually benefit our defense some?
He averages 9 ppg. I wouldn't worry about him right out of the gate. Even though Lattin and McNeace aren't great defenders, or heavy, both are probably better than most of the guys this dude has played against.
He's really a good rebounder so it's imperative that Lattin and McNeace keep him off the offensive glass. The key to their offense is Terrell who, at 6'3", can really score.
Their defense is what got them the #7 seed, however. They're really good at turning teams over. OU has to take care of the ball, not something they've done well this season. They're really good defending the 3 but not good at keeping teams off the foul line. OU has to penetrate and look to score or get fouled inside.
I haven't looked at his individual rebounding numbers, but as a team, RI is a horrible rebounding team.
I like that they foul a lot. Should be a good game for TY to penetrate and either get fouled, shoot a floater, or kick it. Odomes might have some success too. Sounds like the plan on offense needs to be attack, attack, attack.
I'm actually feeling pretty decent about this game. Unless we just can't make a shot at all, I think we get the W.
I don’t think OU needs to shoot well. I think they need to play smart. When I. The half court look for Manek to shoot over his man. He will have at least a five inch inch height advantage. Look for McNeace and Lattin to use their speed against the wide body center. Look for Young and Odomes to penetrate. Kick it back to James and McGusty for open threes. Just don’t force stuff.
And out rebound this smaller and presumably less athletic team.

I don't think this will be a big mismatch athletically. Rhode Island obviously doesn't play in a Power 5 conference, but they aren't a low major, either. It'd be wrong to think this is like playing an Ivy League team that has to rely solely on execution and discipline.
