Thought/Question?

Here lately conversations on Morgan Hook and Morgan Rich have been posted and got me thinking about some of the Oklahoma girls that are out there. Going to the games I see numerous OK HS players (Murcer, Johnson, Mayo, and many I don't recognize) at the games as I am guessing on an unofficial invited player as I never see a coach come over to say hi, but have seen an occasional wave from Jan, Pat, or TK to the stands. From the time Hook was in the 9th grade I heard from different places she was committed to Oklahoma. With that said I do not believe a scholarship can officially be offered till they are a junior (I could be wrong). I guess out of the most I have seen Murcer and her mom there the most and from what I hear she is an OU die hard and would seem to fit what Sherri is looking for in a player yet nothing official as in Hook. My question is has the staff maybe learned something from Morgan committing so early and hasn't sent out a feeling or offer if they can as I believe they may have done with Morgan Hook?

Next question would be pertaining to Morgan Rich. How is it she ends up in Oklahoma after first going to Kentucky? I can find nothing that says we tried to recruit her out of HS, but it may of had something to do with being Miss Kentucky in basketball and possibly the stature of the UK team so how is it can we can get in on her after the fact rather than in the beginning? Is this the $64 question to our recruiting success and failures or was it just plain luck?

Unlike OU men's football and basketball there isn't much news on OU women's basketball recruiting. Someone on here will post we are following so and so on twitter, but not much else. We just have no inside to what Sherri and co. does or operate, but it would be nice to hear something occasionally.

I have not heard how Rich ended up at OU. I've been thinking someone (perhaps OUDaily) would do a feature story on her and ask that question but nothing yet.

Rich apparently considered Western Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky originally. When she announced her departure from Kentucky, she said she was looking at Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Western Kentucky. So, two names popped up in both situations. I don't know how we moved ahead of Alabama, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt. I wonder if she met Madison Treece in a recruiting visit?

When they said she had not satisfied their requirements to play at Kentucky, I wondered if those were academic. But, Vanderbilt would seem to negate that. I assume it had something to do with her ACL recovery, it being torn on Feb 6, 2014 (I think). She may not have been fully healed.

She is listed at 5-10 and 5-11.
