I find it interesting that OU men pick up a three star post transfer and the men's board goes bananas while the women pick up a three star post transfer and there isn't much posted. Both players fill a need and I realize that TaShawn has proven a lot but how about some talk about "tree?"

I know nothing about her so all that I can do is stir the pot a bit and try to start something.

We just don't know much about Treece yet. We have been told she is a "blue collar" type of player. If that means she is tough, great rebounder, good defender, and can score in the paint, then I'm looking forward to seeing her in a Sooner uniform. We need some toughness.

I'm way excited about Treece. We need another Joanna and I think she's as close as we might get for a couple of years. I'm excited because I think she's going to end up starting. I'm excited because she isn't Kay-Kay and I'm kind of down on Kay-Kay right now.

I'm excited because we have an alternative that will enable us to give Vivi some time to heal properly and come along at a pace that doesn't end with another injury.

If we could add an even better version of Treece, I'd be way excited about that too.

very excited about the signing of Treece...we definitely need help up front..if her game compares favorably to Joanna that would be icing on the cake!!

From what little I have seen of Treece, I really like. I don't think she will have the range that Jo had, but she doesn't need to. We will have more than enough out side shooters. I hope she will be that "dirt digger" that does all the tough work at the glass and is a wall of a screener. If she can rebound with authority and own the glass, I will be very happy. Very anxious to see her in October.

Well problem 1.
There's like a ten minute highlight reel of TaShawn Thomas from Houston.

In scouring the net, I think someone found like a 20 second clip on Treece.
I think if we had ten minutes of highlights the excitement and discussion would be much higher.
When she verbaled, there were numerous threads on how excited the posters were about the pickup.

In several threads, I've called this the best spring signing since Maria, and the best HS spring signee by Sherri ever.

There is an entire game with Treece when she was a junior. It shows Treece, the forward who is headed to UConn, and a guard who is headed to ISU. Actually, there was also an entire game that had Treece as a sophomore as well. It is from her game as a junior that we were able to see that she does have decent footwork. We didn't see her shoot anything beyond three or four feet, but she hit what she threw up there. Since there were no rebounding battles, we couldn't tell what type of rebounder she might be. Supposedly, she became more aggressive as a senior.

From what I've seen and read, Treece's game is different from Joanna's. Joanna was ranked the 38th best player in the country when she was being recruited; not because she was a great athlete, but because she could shoot BTA and rebound. She was also tough and smart. I think Treece will likely play her entire career in the paint and her playing time will depend on Kaylon, ViVi, and how well Treece can adjust to D-1 ball. My best guess is, this first year will be a learning experience for her and she will probably compete for some decent minutes next year and beyond. Of course, that could change depending on whether ViVi is fully recovered and ready to go.

I would just like to see her hit the layups, clean the glass and not foul out.
