TMG Article

Author neglects to mention (probably wasn't aware since it was never made public) that TMG did not have the option of returning to school.

Hope he has turned his life around.

I like this article because his quotes say volumes about him. It's embarrassing to admit he was ever a Sooner. I do have to admit he dominated Houston HS basketball his senior year.

TMG Quotes

Do kids today consider it cool to speak and write like that? If so, that is really sad. Illiteracy is not cool.

Don't get caught up in spelling...! Players on our current team spell things just like that in every tweet.
It's a generational thing!!

lol, DenverSooner, I bet you spell out every word correctly without shorthand when you text (if you text). :-)

The difference being that Denver actually knows how to spell those words and write proper sentences. Those other guys? not so much.

on twitter you are limited to 140 total characters including punctuation and spaces. Everyone on twitter types like that.

I don't text much. I pretty much spell things correctly and write in complete sentences when I do.

What is the point of "dat", "leavin", "skool", "doin", "anotha" "yue" and "mite". Are you suggesting this is shorthand? I didn't even mention "aint", not capitalizing the letter I, the use of y for why, yr for year or too many periods in the ellipse. There are 21 words (counting the ellipse as a word) in that. 15 of them have errors.

If it is about characters, as some have contended, try this.

I am officially leaving school and declaring for the draft. Less words, less characters, more information, and no need to explain it to anyone.

If you are famous, quasi famous or want to become famous and you make public statements like that, you are f*&^inch fool.

I don't follow twitter but it is nothing more than a modern day press release. Would you allow your press agent to release garbage like that?

Come on... Lets bash Jelon, Buddy, Cam, DJ, Frank, James,

Every one of them do it... You guys just hate TMG.. thats fine. But get past twitter spelling.

TMG did what he felt was best for him... If hes making good money and happy with his life, let him be.

I just posted for an update and different take on him...

I have no issues with TMG leaving and hold no ill will towards him. If our current players post crap like that then I will bash them too. But I really have a hard time believing stuff like this comes from them

"its a official dat i am leavin skool....ask me y i aint doin anotha yr yue mite get ignored."

Don't tell me it's to save space b/c it isn't. It is either because he is illiterate or thinks it is cool.

"it is official. I am leaving school. If you ask me why you might get ignored."

I didn't bash TMG. I simply asked if this was considered cool by kids today.

I do think he is illiterate but I don't hate him.

Yes, it's considered cool by kids today. Not so much cool, perhaps, as just a thing. It's what's done.

In any case, you may rest assured that kids were communicating in a fashion that adults found equally incomprehensible and/or objectionable in your youth (and mine).
