TMG Article

I personally did a lot of stupid and immature stuff. You will never hear me say otherwise. However, my immaturity at that age doesn't mean I should not act as a role model as an adult.

Cool people speak with proper grammar and are literate. They can read and write effectively. They have respect for themselves and others. I fully understand children/teenagers don't necessarily understand this but I would be doing the youth no favor by acting like their foolishness is cool. I will comfortably attempt to be a good role model and say all the stupid stuff my parents said when I was a kid even if I am mocked by today's youth (or you).

Here is a question that the author didn't ask...what is TMG going to do once he's done playing basketball?
What that author doesn't realize is that if TMG got his degree and then went and played oversees...he would have started out making more money and when his bball career was over he would continue making money. And who's to say that he couldn't have had a shot at getting drafted. Napier is going to get drafted...who would have thought that after his freshman year?

I'm not mocking you. I won't pretend to never be thrown or bothered by stuff kids say or do.

But it's always good to maintain perspective, and one way to do that is to remember how it was when we were that age. That's my only point.

Im not mocking either. Just dont want you to not look past these kids. HS kids, College kids, Pro athletes are talking like this. Not all this bad, but to judge a kid for doing the "cool" thing is a little harsh.

I read quite a bit of stuff from athletes and younger people on Twitter, and not once have I seen anybody write as poorly as tmg. Not even close. What he does is not cool, or main stream. At least, not to the extent he does it.

Heck, Dexter Manley puts out more intelligible tweets than tmg, and he (Manley) can't even spell his own name.

I'm not that much older than TMG. My friends are not that much older than TMG. I have never in person or on social media see anybody my age talk like that to be cool. surely things haven't change that much in four or five years

I am glad to hear that.

None of you on this board would want your son to hang out with TMG nor have your daughter be in the same vicinity as him much less date him. He was a thug and never belonged on OU's campus!

Capel had zero control over him. He would just leave practice and play the next game. It was a shame what was going on with him. Of course he didn't go to any classes in the spring semester.

If that is true, Capel is an even worse coach than I thought.

And TMG was also shown the door at the end of the season. He was not welcomed back. Capel pretty much had to play him as there was nobody else, but he had no choice but to leave.

And his tweets are not "shorthand" or anything else. He's just illiterate.

I remember going to a few of TMG's games during his Senior season in HS and came back here to report what I saw.

I'll never forget the game I attended where Tommie DID NOT CROSS THE HALF COURT LINE ONE TIME during an entire half of basketball. During that game he apparently refused to play defense and during each timeout he stood away from the team and did not engage any fellow teammates or coaches.

Capel was at that freaking game.

'Nuff said.

He just left as soon as the season was done. No reason to stay he hadn't been to class the entire semester. I personally think this is wrong no matter who else is available to play.
