Love seeing Trae dominate the Knicks and rub it in those fans face! He is the Joker to their Gotham city rn!

Man, Trae is such a baller! Most 20 and 10 assist games in the nba so far this year.

I still remember him putting on that OU hat over KU in Norman and feeling absolute elation. He is not celebrated enough! Great, great Sooner!

He got a lot of hate even from this board. It was frustrating bc his teammates were not at a level to allow TY to reach his highest point. They'd miss all sorts of bumps off of nice passes. Frustrating to think about and I knew he'd be even better in the pros

I have followed Trae's career closely as I have any NBA Sooner since Gar Heard and Clifford Ray. Though he's always been good at dishing the ball, it seems like he has gotten more proficient this year. However, he never got better with his shooting...still streaky after all these years. I haven't seen enough games of his this year to know if he is at least becoming an average defensive player. That is one area which Buddy Hield has improved. It happens on occasion, though you sometimes see offensive numbers go down when a guy is honed in on defense.

In his one year at OU, I just wish the rest of the team bought in on Trae taking over Day One and tried to be better teammates. It seemed jealousy took over instead. He probably wouldn't have had to deal with that at Kentucky or Kansas, but he also wouldn't have developed as quickly, either.

Lot of hate on TY teammates here.

Lon let Trae get away with crap. Missed meetings. Practice tardiness.

There was some resentment. Sone of the undoing of that year fell directly on TY and Kruger.

I love TY just like many do but he was far from perfect here.

I don't really feel like dredging it all back up again and I know I'm in the minority but I've always said the way that TY came in like the savior to ou bball never set well with me and I'm sure it didn't to the team either

He is a great ambassador to OU though and root for the guy

Def wish LK had been a little more… I dunno, had more boundaries…

If true about missing meetings and being late.. that’s bs. A true leader doesn’t do that. I always thought he was a little selfish. Sure the other guys would have stepped up if they had seen TY as a leader.

Seems to polar opposite of Blake.

Former player (from the 90s) told me whenever he was around the team at the time, Trae would be in one place and the rest of the team in another place. In the tunnel, the team would be in a huddle getting amped up for the game and Trae would be out by himself.

Trae's great for the program today, but he was not a good teammate and really hasn't ever been a winner. That's the truth.

It’s so funny to me that if anyone criticizes a current player or coach, a lot of people on the board act as if it is sacrilege. But once a player moves on, whether it is graduation or transferring, boy, it’s open season on their ability, character, you name it.

TY on balance was clearly good for the program while he was here, and has been a very good ambassador since. I’ll leave it to others to debate how he got ready in the tunnel before games, but I don’t think that had much impact on whether his passes bounced off the hands of our big guys before they missed layups.

He took one of the worst franchises in nba history to the eastern conference finals. Been to playoffs 3 straight years. He is a proven winner.

Doesnt make it less factual. All my sons have TY jerseys. Hes great for OU and ATL.

Hes great for yfac and the community.

And he does own NYC
Yet when some of us point out indisputably true facts about Moser (or current players like Sam), you and others take offense. Why be so protective of guys like that who haven’t accomplished anything of note for the program, but still bring up stories from 7 years ago to criticize TY? And lest we forget, that team, for all its warts, actually made the tournament.

his effort on D is better this season then i think it has ever been

That's really good to hear. I have noticed his +/- ratio is up from past years so was hoping it was a sign his defense was better.

I don't know about whether he a was a good teammate or not when at OU, but I know he has been a good ambassador for OU since he left. One example would be in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019 in Columbia, SC when we beat Ole Miss. I was at the game and Trae was also in attendance chatting with Joe C. Atlanta isn't exactly next door to Columbia, but he took the time to attend the game since the Hawks weren't playing that night. I think his presence was a positive factor for the team.

Here is a good article from ESPN I just saw this morning. It sums up Trae's improvement (notably team defense) while noting his past issues with being a good teammate...guess those issues weren't a one-year thing in college.
