Holy cow, have you seen his numbers the first three games?

I saw him play a lot in HS and was amazed at how well he played at OU, so early, as I felt like he would struggle.

Then watched all his OU games and felt like he was several years away from making a dent in the NBA

NOPE - dude is a baller and very likely an all-star if he maintains a pace anywhere near what he is doing now.

Over 100 points and 25 assists in his first three games.

The second half of his freshman year will always be a mystery to me, but I glad a home-grown kid decided to stay in Norman and is now making bank. He'll be a great asset to OU hoops moving forward.

I thought he would be very good, though I thought his main impact would simply be running the offense and getting people shots because of his vision and passing. I didn't expect him to score as well as he has this early in his career. The amazing thing is that, just like in college, he completely distorts the way opposing defenses have to play. They have to guard him so far behind the line that it spaces the floor to a crazy extent, and, at least last night, Philly basically tried to deny him the ball for all 94 feet. They are a young team and will have plenty of ups and downs, and I'm sure Trae will have nights where he is ice cold, but he's already shown that he can not only survive in the NBA, but excel.

I watched last night and was amazed that Philly was trying to deny full court.. You don't see NBA teams do that. He will put up stupid numbers this season. His team looks like a legit playoff team right now. Young guys are really good and he is finding them. I do think he will average a bunch of turnovers still. I do like that he's finishing around the rim much better and his floater is pretty deadly.

Top 5 PG in league I believe.

I watched the games. He had an amazing first half in the opener. Had an excellent game 2. Struggled a little last night. He’ll be a good one.

One of these days I will be better at not jinxing people, but until then be very afraid.
Well, if it makes you feel any safer, your chances of jinxing me into rolling my ankle are automatically decreased by 50%. I’m an amputee.:D

Sounds like he may not miss any time... Beat writer said he wanted to go back in, but they held him out precautionary.

I'm really not surprised he has acclimated so well to the NBA. Remember the first part of his freshman season at OU? The refs were actually blowing their whistle and defenses couldn't push and shove Trae. He was getting to the free-throw line 10 times a game.

Then the second half of the season rolls around and the conference officials start swallowing their whistles. It happens every season. They make a point to allow "freedom of movement" for about 12 games.

In the NBA, the refs are consistent and its much more geared to the offensive player. Also, the spacing in the NBA suits Tra -- Trae's game was built for the modern NBA.
