Most of you know he was a former OU assistant under Kelvin Sampson. The story is very long, and there is a lot about Kelvin as well. Rabedeaux was unrecognizable compared to when I last saw him. I knew things had deteriorated for him after he left OU, but never knew how badly. I also never knew how much of a father-figure Kelvin was to him.

I remember Jason well. What a shame his life had to end that way!

My friend was recruited by Coach Rab. It's a very sad story and this really only touches the surface.

I'm approaching eight years of staying on top of my demons but this is just another reminder that they are always there just waiting for you to let them in.

Very tragic indeed. I remember interacting with Coach Rab at Kelvin's basketball camp as a 6th grader. He was always enthusiastic and seemed like a very good motivator.

My daughter was on the same IBC team as Tim Heskett. I remember her commenting on how much he liked Coach Rab.

That's really terrible.

My wife is fighting her demons too. She's recently out of detox and completed intensive outpatient therapy. We live day-to-day and I'm thankful for every sober day, every sober minute actually.

I feel for Kelvin -- I can't imagine the burden he is living with. I'm sure it will make him even more determined to not only climb out of the hole he dug but also to do something for his old buddy.

What is IBC?

I don't know if they still have it or not. It was an upper division business course. They divided you up into teams and you created a company and a product to sell. They created a t-shirt and sold it on campus. Each team picked a charity and any profits they made went to the charity. I think IBC stood for Integrated Business Core. Each team was made up of MIS, Accounting, Marketing etc majors.

prayers for your wife

Man, such a powerful, heart-breaking story. Wright Thompson really did that story justice.

It's heartbreaking to read Rab's story. He was a good coach but once he started his down-spiral, I guess he couldn't pull out of it. Too bad.
