Transfer Portal 2027

Truth is that nothing is a surprise in this year's portal situation. The majority of OU NIL money is headed to football and rightly so. How can we explain OU having the most Top 300 football recruits in the 2027 class if this wasn't true? Unfortunately, the programs that are needing a cash boost are men's and women's basketball. Neither team is going to have a full allotment of players for next year unless some miracle happens. Hopefully, things will change in the future.

football has a much better coach / program .. and is in the ball park in NIL .. (almost never the highest) ..

bball has the worst OU coach in over 50 years ..

there are like 1,000 guys in the portal, but less than 20 of the top 100 are remaining. We’re in on 1 of those guys. 🤷‍♂️

Porter is playing the long game. He knows he will be canned. He knows he will land at one of the 300 ranked teams he loves to schedule. So he is bringing talent to norman that can come with him to his next team

It’s looking more and more like a lame duck season. Money may be the priority for most players but it’s not the only consideration. All things considered, they don’t want to play for a lame duck coach who hasn’t demonstrated any level of success at his current school.

I strongly disagreed with keeping moser for another season. Whatever the reason, another failed season must be the last straw. There will be no excuses now.

Good thing we didn't ruin the x2 transfers moment.. that would've been embarrassing..

I'm willing to let it play out a little longer, and even if it ends up being a big mistake I'm not saying he can't recover and be a good AD for us, but it's starting to appear that Denny has stuck his foot in his mouth. Referring to our athletic department as "underdogs", then making promises about basketball funding that in the short-term, I'm not sure he can deliver on.

There has to be a plan. I can’t imagine anyone starting a new job at a high profile university and making claims with no basis. I have to believe he made those claims because he was assured the money was there. I think the most logical conclusion is they miscalculated the cost of portal going up 10% when in reality the market increased by 50%.

We may very well have increased our NIL budget to $12 million while everyone else increased to $20 million.

You have to wonder if Reid is questioning whether he should stick around on this sinking ship. What time is the deadline today?
