We need more than one big to compete for a title in this conference. OU has got to be able to put a legit 6-9 and 6-10 on the court at the same time. Even better if we can land a 6-11 or 7-0 center.

Crazy to me to try to break it down like that, as if an inch or two, here and there, makes a difference with no context.

We just need a good player. There are good players that are 6'9. There are good players that are 7'0. I suspect we aren't going to be able to find and pay a 7-footer that has the skills necessary to be successful in Moser's system.

Houston's best defensive big man was 6'8 (Tugler). In recent year's it's been the 6'8 Roberts.

Find guys that can play. No need to go chasing certain measurables. Period.

Okay, here me out. An all-foreigner, no nil team. We pocket all of the $s and then unload porter and have 2x the money purse and get a mega team in 2027-2028

It's not a bad idea. Illinois has 5 Europeans on their roster.

I disagree. Houston was an outlier last year. These teams that are making deep runs are tall. 6-8 will struggle defending 6-11

It depends on length. Houston doesn’t have great standing height but they have had guys with really long arms so they still defend the rim and rebound well. But they also have Kelvin.

Unless an incoming frosh is a Blake, Trae or Fears why not just go NIL all the way? Maybe take a few to fill out the roster here and there.

yeah there's almost no reason to take a high school player anymore unless they're really cheap....or really good

Or, HS kids become the market inequality and OU can make some noise there.

Not enough quality kids in the Portal to recruit your entire roster from there if you are OU. Especially if some of the teams with more money than us are taking that approach.

We'll see how it all plays out, but I think we might have done ourselves a disservice by only bringing in one (Mayfield) this year. Again, need to let it play out first.

Unless you have a HoF coach like Izzo or Painter. Most of the guys on that team (in rotation) started and ended their career's at the same spot - pretty cool to see and root for imo
