Transfer Portal 2027

Lusk mentioning some names:

Jeremiah Wilkinson - conducted a zoom, but LSU is team to beat

T.O. Barrett - in the mix along with Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State, conducted zooms with him

Jalil Bethea - involved because of Scott connection, likely viewed as a bench piece

Don't like the trend here...

Sometimes you have to overpay. We can't bargain shop every year. Random numbers, but if we value Brown at $700k and he wants $900k to stay, sometimes, in SOME situations, you gotta find a way to pay the guy the $900k. You can't lose all of your good players because they ask for a little big more than our valuation system has them at. We paid Pack a pretty good amount. Davis wasn't cheap either. Coupled with Denny opening his mouth about more resources, we should have the money to either retain our two best players or adequately replace them.
I agree. Maybe you try to save a bit and find good budget options for your 9th and 10th men and hope the GM can do a good job finding undervalued guys who can help you in those roles. But for you starters, you can’t try to pinch pennies, especially when you aren’t coached well enough to overcome a talent deficiency.

Some of that is on the coach. Nobody wants to support a) a loser, and b) a coach that they don't like on a personal level.

Some of you won't like "b" above. I'm not saying Moser isn't a decent enough guy. He seems to be. But TO ME, he doesn't seem very likeable. Or personable. Or the kind of guy I'd want to donate to to make sure he succeeds.

OU has a LOT of likeable coaches. People LOVE Venables, for example. We need the basketball version of that.
You've got this backward. The players, and especially the bureaucrats, like porter. He is very likeable and personable.

But hes def a loser..

I’ll sell my body idc

Brock Morris has followed.

Unfortunately he’ll be wanted by everyone.

Spend it all. I’ll come play a guard spot for free Braum’s or something. Hope you all are ok with a 5’8” past my prime coach on the court type.

By coach on the court, I just mean out of shape, and that I coached once upon a time.

and that's the sad reality of this exercise.
it won't really matter in the end which players we get or don't get.

Texas is going to be a pain in the ass next year with Vokietaitis & Punch if they finish that deal off.
