Need ball-handling / scoring, not just shooters. Desperately need that starting 5 (already committed?). But here's what that looks like:

1/2 - Xzayvier Brown, Combo1, SG2, Dayton Forsythe
3/4 - Reid, Rooths, Hendricks, Haskins, Mayfield
5 - C1, Rogers

I'm sure we could play big lineups with Haskins at a 2, but more likely play smaller lineups with Rooths at 5, Reid at 4, Hendricks at 3 and two guards to prioritize ball-handling and scoring.

Let's back up here and review what happened.

First - I LIGHTLY criticized our most recent transfer, pointing out that Evan Miya's metrics didn't like him much at all. I also pointed though in saying that I thought he was a fine bench addition. Even bolded that comment.

Second - A poster takes a random shot at me, saying I'd probably be critical if we landed what is thought to be out next major guard target, the Riley kid from Tulsa.

Third - I respond, stating I was literally the first person that mentioned/asked about Riley on this board, and especially at this point, I'd be thrilled to get him.

Fourth - A nobody poster known for just showing up and taking shots at people asks if I'm always like this, I guess, in response to be telling the previous poster to "pay attention." Said poster has made 4 posts since May of 2024, three of them attacking posters.

Fifth - I called him an idiot because he is an idiot.

I won't sit back and let people take shots at me on here, especially when they are uncalled for. Don't tell me what I'll likely think of us landing Riley, when I've previously stated the opposite. Don't attack me for defending myself by asking "if I'm like this in real life." My posts were about basketball. It's some of the other posters around here with an IQ of around 70 that don't want to talk actual basketball, or advanced stats, or scheme fit. They just want to be little PoMo rah rah fans and jump on anybody that criticizes a coach with a terrible resume that is continuing to drag down my favorite college basketball program.

Yup. Thanks for clearing that up. You’re clueless about everything.
 
I like Riley a lot. Bit of a volume shooter and worried a little about his ability to defend the SEC night in and night out, but he's got an elite skill -- getting to the free throw line. 62% FT rate. 80 more free throws last year than our highest finisher (Reid at 159). Shoots them at 87%, so that's a bankable offensive skill.

It’s as underrated of a skill as there is for a guard who plays with the ball in his hands a lot. Was always one of my main complaints about Uzan. He just would not get himself to the foul line.
