Transfer Portal 2027

No one wants to develop kids now, especially when the risk of them leaving is so high. Everyone wants the finished product and wants someone else to do the developing. If the kid isn't a near lottery pick, why waste time on him? Seems like today's mentality.

Now I still would take 2-3 at least. See if you can hit or retain. Especially if the price is right

that's a good mentality.
no high schoolers unless they're top 10 or cheap.
also....the chances of him staying after crup moser gets fired next year are slim

Gage Mayfield played tonight in the Iverson 24k Showcase & was one of the best players on the floor. Really good looking athlete, shot it well at 9/13 & 2/3 from 3 for 22 points.

Side note: Brock Morris just followed Gage’s teammate in this game, Martay Barnes, who signed with FSU. Not sure if there’s anything to be done there, just a note.

Bob P says staff wants to dip into 2026 class again 👀

I agree with that, but in today's game, if they aren't getting a lot of game time as a true freshman, even if they aren't ready, they bail and seek a different school. So OU ends up spending a year to develop someone for someplace else. No one has any patience to wait their turn, because it hurts their "value". It's all ridiculous and I hate every bit of it.

Lusk Notes:

Yaak Yaak - Oklahoma in good position with him to be 3rd center

Quincy Wadley - top target currently. Visit with Cincy on Monday, but looking to get a visit right after. Highly sought after by us and feel he can come contribute early on

Sencire Harris - will pivot to him if Wadley doesn't work out

I'd be totally fine with Yaak and Wadley. Yaak would be a decent 3rd center and Wadley has some upside to his game. I'm not a fan of Harris though. He does nothing for me. He does have decent size at 6'4" but is a HORRIBLE 3 pt shooter. He's a career 20% shooter from there, and has shot it at 11% and 18% the past two seasons. In the 2024-25 season, he started off the year 0-26 from 3! How is that possible?? lol

Harris defense is at least good. But I don’t love it, even if he’s an off the bench guy. I agree with the sentiment that we need a microwave guy.

I dont disagree but to me. Half the price and worth the risk if they hit or can retain 1 of the 2/3

Harris's 3pt numbers are interesting. As a freshman he was 38% on 1.20 game. However the last 2 years he was 11% & 18% on 1.1 & 1.7 per game.

ESPN shows his freshman numbers at 31.7%, which is still lower than I would like for a guard. But, if he could at least be over 30%, that would be fine for a bench guard, who does play decent defense.

Harris does have good defensive numbers but is awful offensively. The last thing we need would be a JN type player who Moser plays too much for three months. Maybe Harris could help in the right role, but unless he is willing to just be a pure defensive stopper, it’s hard to see us having much success with a complete non shooter in the backcourt.

Yikes.. why dont we get rid of Yaak and throw that $ at Wadley? Don't want harris at all. Non shooters are non starters for me

Yeah, but we got to have another big of some sort. Currently, it’s basically Gak, Rogers and Rooths…who are 6’10” or bigger. Ideally, I’d like to add another PF..even if we get Yaak. Unless we’re assuming Rogers can play there some? There’s a kid named Tylik Weeks who I wish we would go after. I’d love to add him to the roster, although I dunno if he wants to be a role player.

October of last year. Hmmmm... I cant think of anything that would have ran them off. Anyone leave the program around that time? LOL
I wish I knew what this meant but I don't. I admit I probably should know, but I don't. :geek::geek:

Gak can play both 4 & 5 positions.
