Has this been discussed? Somebody from another site said they heard he stopped going to class and flew back home.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

that was DSM but I guess it could be CJ too. I'd rather lose CJ and keep DSM.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

IF that's true...

I guess I don't get it...leaving in the middle of the semester. Unless he has online classes he can continue.

"dropping" out means F's..so he'd not be in good standing to transfer. Technically he COULD have to pay back this semester's financial assistance. (1 reason that might not be true)

On the flip side (1 reason it might be true) - bringing in a 6'5 wing...is his position..so who knows.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

He was at offseason practice yesterday.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

I consider that more a position of need.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

DSM wouldn't have stepped on the court this year and he knew it, hence the transfer. James can still be a valuable member of this team. Hell, he doesn't even have to improve, if he can just play like he did as a Freshman he's already good enough to be a strong contributor. Anything on top of that is just gravy.

From the OU_MBB Twitter page.. Yesterdays practice.. Pretty sure that's James with his hand on Kruger's shoulder..

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

James had a disappointing sophomore season. Hopefully it was only the dreaded "sophomore slump," but who can know for certain? I still believe that Christian can be a consistent double digit scorer and solid rebounder in his junior and senior seasons. Does anyone actually believe that DSM had more upside and potential than James?

I agree. I think CJ can avg in the mid teens and shoot mid 40% from three going forward. This season just reeked a total lack in confidence, im hopeful he can shake it.

Confidence is an issue but the attitude is as well. He's got a ways to go locker room wise. I hope he can turn the corner.

Thank you for the additional insight I wasn't aware of that. You could see signs of him hanging his head, barking at others and a bit of a ride on the bench during the season, I thought it was more to do with his struggles than his overall attitude as a whole. Hope he improves. Need him to get back to the F4.

yeah he showed some of that both on the bench and on the floor last season. I think he came into the season with a huge weight on his shoulders thinking it was gonna be on him to pick up Buddy's share of the load - and he just wasn't up to the task then it snowballed.

He most certainly has the talent to be an impact player, but now he's dealing with head issues over past conduct and a new start might help him.

Re: Rumor: James Transferring?

BS, I have direct experience with this.. at a D1 Juco level. You sign a contract saying you will do certain things, 1 is maintain eligibility GPA wise. If you don't do that the school can come back and require return payment.

Granted, like I said, that was D1 Juco (different sport and form a 1st semester point of view) so maybe different being 2nd semester, but all scholarships are 1 yr deals, and basically a contract.

Now, would OU do that?...prob not
