Tyler Neal

c'mon man.

The ONE time I can remember him trying to dunk it in a game he missed the dunk.
There are lots of times that he has a chance to show that athleticism and he doesn't. I just don't see it. It has nothing to do with him being white.

I realize dunking isn't what makes someone an athlete but lets not pretend that neal can beat many off the dribble either.

He can really get up when he gets his feet under him...but he does not jump as well on the move (he's a two footed jumper). It's hard to dunk that way unless you've got a clear path to the basket.

lol ok.

lol ok
use your eyes.

Both of my statements are correct. Neal has beaten guys on the baseline for huge dunks and wins the dunk contest in preseason almost every season.

Lon Kruger did work him at PG it was in the paper.

I am using my eyes and my eyes don't care what color he is.

I guess we have different definitions of huge or I am not remembering them. And a dunk contest doesn't do much for me. So if he won the dunk contest last year are you saying that makes him a better athlete than osby?

I know this and not sure how it is relevent. All it says to me is that he handles the ball better and the coach trusts him more with the ball in his hands. doesn't really talk to his athleticism imo.

jesus, everything has to be about race doesn't it. I'm using my eyes for what I actually see in actual games.

Watching Tyler Neal of all people bust OSU's ass was highly entertaining.

You just said he can dunk better but isn't a better athlete. Dunking is based off a guys vertical leap. Many consider the vertical leap to be the best indicator of overall athletic ability.

Dribbling is based off of hand eye coordination. If the vertical leap isn't the best indication of athletic ability, hand eye coordination is.

You just discounted two huge factors of athleticism. Then you discounted making smart decisions which is third important criteria to being a successful or "good" athlete.

I don't know if Neal is the best athlete on the team. I probably wouldn't pick him. I think I would pick Spangler, Hield or Cousins but the players picked Neal.

Tyler Neal is very athletic, but he lacks quickness. This makes his athleticism less obvious to the casual observer.

Tyler is another warrior. It is a joy to see him succeed. He was obviously having a good time on the court last night.

This is a fun morning to be on this message board.

How quickly we forget the way Neal came in as a frosh and was all dunky dunky and stuff. He's relatively quick for his size, has decent hands, blah blah blah ... seems like the definition of athleticism to me.

ok then case closed...we can agree that tyler is not the best athlete.

That's news to me.

ok so now we have hand eye coordination and intelligence as two of the three criteria of athleticism. gotcha. any others you want to throw in? How about vocalness or leadership? ooo or how about determination?

so why are you arguing?

sorry for derailing the thread.

It was an awesome night for Neal, no matter how good of an athlete he is.

Are you a smart guy? If so, you are doing an excellent job of deception.

I think he should grow out the fro again, he's earned it.
