3/26 Update: Kabongo announced he's staying. Brown hasn't announced officially yet.

---

Lots of rumors today on the Texas boards that both may be gone.

The school newspaper just tweeted this on Brown:

Source tells Texan, J'Covan Brown to enter NBA draft. Story to come soon

We'll see.

If he hasn't already, Brown can put his name in for evaluation and still return to school (something every junior with NBA aspirations should do IMO).

Longhorn Brown will enter NBA draft

By Mark Rosner | Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 10:16 PM

J’Covan Brown, the Longhorn junior who led the Big 12 in scoring this season, will leave school for the NBA draft, according to an NBA source.

Brown, who averaged 20 points a game, told reporters after the Longhorns were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament last week that he was considering leaving for the NBA so he could support his family, including a young daughter.

The NBA source said Brown has made that decision.

Another Longhorn, freshman Myck Kabongo, might also leave for the NBA but has not made a final decision, according to the source.

Brown isn't an NBA player.

Hope he enjoys supporting his family from Europe.

UT is getting killed by the NBA draft.

At this point I would say OU is better than both Texas and ISU heading into next season. I think you can make an argument that OU will be picked 5th in the preseason poll

Could be even more shakeup coming.

Frank Martin's high on Illinois' list. His departure could really hurt ksu. Baylor could also be hit pretty hard by the draft.

Kabongo, really? He's obviously got talent, but it would just be another Texas guard leaving for the NBA too early IMO. He needs to get bigger, for one. Looked like a little kid against OU, imagine the NBA.

Kabongo is working off of his hype coming out of HS and there was a lot. Based on that he could sneak into the first round as I have seen him project there. Might as well before your stock falls more I suppose? Brown, well if IIRC his dad was a real piece of work during his recruitment and who knows what goes on behind the scene. He MIGHT get picked in the second round.

These schools need to start making these coaches sign covenants not to compete. It is BS that a school like KSU gives Martin his first shot, pays him very well and then risks losing him to a hire bidder after they prove he can do it and take all the risk.

He can support his family better making $800,000+ a year in Europe than making $0.00 next year at UT.

Kabongo just announced that he's staying for another year. Brown says he's still thinking things over.
