The replay of the Vandy/Tennessee game is on ESPN now if you want to scout them.

I scouted them earlier. They’re really good. Saturday’s game will be tough. Come out not ready to play like we did tonight, and we will almost certainly lose.

Don't let tonight's performance fool you. This is a young team, and not a good one. They're going to finish the season something like 14-18. Must win this one.

So which OU team is the real one: the one who got down by 19 to a bunch of walk-ons and also-rans at OSU, or the one who came back to beat said walk-ons and also-rans? OU is not a young team, so this should never have happened. Vandy will be a very tough game!

Osu has 8 scholarship players and 1 walk on. Yes, they have lost some of their scholarship players but only 1 of them was a starter. They aren’t good but any win on the road in the big 12 is huge right now.

Vandy might be a close/tough game, but it will NOT be because they are good. They are not good. At all. They are 0-6 in the SEC and they also have losses to Kent St. and UNC Asheville. They did just give the #1 team in country a very good game and they hung tough for awhile with UK as well. They also have some big losses (lost by 20 at Georgia). Not a good basketball team.

I was very clearly talking about Vanderbilt, not OU.

they are really young and lost their pg and best player to injury

they are also a major matchup issue for OU

they start
6'8 217 F plays 16.1 MPG
6'10 240 F plays 16.8 MPG
6'10 240 F plays 28.6 MPG
6'6 213 W plays 26.1 MPG
6'2 183 PG plays 30.1 MPG

off the bench
6'8 240 F plays 13.9 MPG
6'8 209 F plays 24.0 MPG
6'7 210 W plays 25.6 MPG
6'2 192 PG plays 14.5 MPG

lots and lots of size

Ada, Vandy is not a good team from a metrics standpoint. I know they played Tennessee close, but they are #98 in Kenpom. As a comparison, the worst Big 12 team (WV) is #85. If OU plays relatively decent (which certainly is not a given), they should win this game going away.

Yeah, they're not very good and they just lost a tough game against a rival and conference foe, partly because of a controversial call. They'll have a tough time bouncing back in just a couple of days on the road against a team that isn't even in their conference. Since we're at home, there's not really any excuse for losing this game.

i grew up in Norman and have been a Sooner fan since the day i was born and that is never gonna change....my pops has had the same seats in LE6 since Bliss was the coach. However, I went to Vandy. the Tenn game @Vandy is the biggest game of the year for Vanderbilt. it's kind of a manufactured, one-sided rivalry mostly on VU's part.....against Tenn. i never really got it to be honest but that's how it is.

that was Vandy's Super Bowl.....not sure how much i'd read into a great effort by VU but still.

that said, we need to show up and play ball to win.

LOL. Am I the only poster on the board that realized you WERE referring to Vandy?

Yeah, I'm not sure where the confusion came from.

I referred to them as a young team that's probably going to finish 14-18. Considering OU's rotation is 5 seniors, 1 junior, 1 sophomore, and 1 freshman and we've already won 14 games, I thought that would pretty much rule out the possibility of me referring to OU.
