Video: Kam McGusty's New Love

very articulate young man. sounds very intelligent. good for him! sure glad to have him here.

Right now he may be the best player on the team. If not a close 2nd

If he keeps playing like this, he's going to slide into an All Big 12 spot. Certainly right now, the all freshman team is:

Josh Jackson
Jarrett Allen
Kristian Doolittle
Kam McGusty
Andrew Jones

Did I miss anyone?

Jordan Woodard is by far the best player on the team. Kam may, however, be the best/most dependable scorer. Next season he may well be our best player.

i agree with you, but Kam is quickly closing the gap. Doolittle has been making a strong case to be our third best player.

I never dreamed two freshmen would be in my top three early in the season.

by far? I really dont see that. I know you guys love the kid and all and he's done some excellent things here ... but he's not a 1 or 2 guy. By that I mean he can't be the teams first or second featured player - he doesnt have good enough handles. not unless the other team has their behinds puckered playing tight on the other outside shooters vice playing off to bump him. When other players are strong his game becomes strong. He has a good shot, dont get me wrong, but he likes to drive and dish some too and his ballhandling isnt where it should be if the focus is just on him.

He's our player that can play the best right now probably ... but I'd put Kam over him soon.

Good to see you changed your mind and agreed with Ada and me in your last paragraph. :ez-laugh:

I think I'd put Doolittle over McGusty right now as our 2nd best player. McGusty's been fantastic but I think that, despite the fact that Doolittle plays out of control at times, he can do more things that help the team. The best thing about both is their toughness. They're not afraid of anything. I know someone will point out the free throws McGusty missed the other night but I don't care. They attack. They want the ball and they make plays more often than not.

It's a hell of a nice problem to have -- trying to decide which of our 2 great freshmen is better.

Lol.. right he couldn't handle being our 2 guy last year at all huh? :ez-roll:

I think he means first or second option. Last year he was the 3rd/4th option with Spangler depending on who had the hot hand. Buddy and Isaiah were #1 and #2. Woodard is not athletically gifted and doesn't have great size, which means he needs someone to take the pressure off of him so he can use his craftiness to create opportunities.

Woodard was not the 3-4 option :ez-laugh:. He was unequivocally the number 2..

Hence why he scored the 2nd most points last year.

Woodard created a lot of his own opportunities last year.. this year has been a little rough for him tho

^ You are so obviously right, hoopsaustin.

my whole point was he does very well as an alternate scorer. but when defenses tighten on him he has issues. he also doesn't have the best handles in the world. but, of course, it's just my opinion. I am sure one of you will just tell me how wrong I am.

:ez-laugh: Just a friendly disagreement, cool. If I believe someone's opinion is wrong, that's just my opinion. No harm intended.
