Warren out? for year?

Did Blake travel to Stillwater two years ago when he missed the game there we won? I want to say that he didn't, but I could be wrong.

You are right, he didn't travel. Although that could have been so Coach wouldn't have been tempted to play him, knowing how Blake could persuade him to get on the court. :bgriff624_jpg_xs:

europe is not an option. how many american kids, highly recruited mind you, have left college early to go to europe?

pure speculation, but i'd say it's probably a 98% chance he jumps to the nba. it might actually be better for him to be drafted in the second round rather than late in the first. if he proves himself, he'll make more money quicker. if he gets drafted in the first round to a team who doesn't give him a chance, it could kill his career sitting on the bench locked in into a three year contract.

i think after the draft camps, his stock will rise. but the league has been flooded with really good pure point guards, so i hope he makes himself as valuable as he can as a 1 and 2 guard in the league.

This whole thread is speculation without any evidence. Complete waste of time. There is very likely no truth to any of these theories.

I don't think anyone said they had any evidence, its just their opinion, which is part of what message boards are for.

It doesn't make sense for him not to travel with the team with an ankle injury.

Unless they decided it would be best for him to stay and get treatment? Not saying for sure that is what it is, because there is quite a bit of smoke around WWIII.

Just FWIW on the whole "why didn't he travel" issue...

Earlier this year when OSU played KSU in Manhattan, Ray Penn didn't make the trip, and I'm fairly certain he hasn't been traveling with the team while he's been out with his injury.

I think it's just a thing where if you have one fewer member of the traveling party that's one less mouth to feed, one less hotel room, etc.

The best thing for WW to do is come back, be a team player and improve his draft stock. If there ever was a case to be made for coming back WW is it. I do not know the kid, but I am good friends with one of his high school coaches. Last year the topic of WW came up and he said the kid has all the talent in the world but he needs to mature and learn to make better decisions. Staying at OU and working would be a great place to start. For his part I hope the kid makes the right decision.

I'm 99.9% positive Penn was with them in Manhattan. I remember him shaking hands with the other team after the game in street clothes.

To be a team player? That's the problem, earl. I know you know what's up. How do we get WW to realize he has teammates? If he can't figure this out, I would like to see him move on. Boomer!

My guess is it is no longer about injuries. Capel is doing Willie a solid by not just booting him. Claim an injury that is worse then it is, or mono, or whatever, and Willie goes pro. No chance at transfering, that would be dumb. IF what I suspect is true, I'll at least give Capel credit for pulling the trigger.

My opinion is that both Tiny and TMG were/are sick of Willie, and if Willie stayed, one or both of those guys might be gone.

Has any OU athlete been crucified more that Willie Warren this season? I think Kevin Wilson received more compliments than Willie this year. It is not Willie's fault that the fans put all their eggs in his basket. It is not Willie's fault everyone bought into the hype of the freshmen. It is not Willie's fault this team is 13-14. It is a collective team effort from the coaches to the players that this team has not been as good as most thought. Quit singling Willie Warren out. Flame away.

all i know is that "flame away" is being used more than a phone book lately. its the new "this"

Just a hunch, but I don't think people are after him because of on-court performance, as your post would suggest.

If he was out there, busting his rear-end every night, had not been suspended multiple times for attitude issues, had better body language, etc., I have a feeling people wouldn't be quite so quick to get on him.

He has been constantly bashed over the head since the first loss of the season against VCU. He had like 28 that night.

Which underscores my point that people have been mostly critical of him for off-the-court issues, as opposed to on-court performance.

Why does TMG receive a free pass? He has had similar issues.
