Warren out? for year?

Because Willie CAUSED most of TMG's off the court problems? LOL

I can just see this happening.

TMG: "Willie I really need to go to study hall and class."

WW (holding gun to TMG's head): "I'm sorry but you are going down with me."

Yea. That isn't what I'm talking about.

The WWIII situation is EERILY similar to the Tracy McGrady situation here in Houston earlier this season.

Why? He was on the floor for our 3 biggest wins of the year.

Attitude problem.
Leading in the "wrong way".
Volume shooter.
Needs the ball, but so does TMG.
Appears to have an agenda.
Appears to not like TMG/Tiny very much.
Bad defender.
Doesn't always hustle.

I could go on and on. I don't think you can have a very good team when your best player, supposedly, is out sleeping with player's GF's, and not hustling for most of the season. Capel has practically no chance or teaching the young guys the "right" way to act, when Willie acts the opposite way.

And in our biggest win of the year, Willie played, yes, but he didn't start. Only played 16 minutes. Only took one shot. And in general, just stayed out of the way. If he could do that, and have a good attitude, maybe my opinion would chance. We all know Willie isn't going to be content getting a couple of shots, if healthy.

It's no coincidence that Willie hasnt' been starting lately. It appears Capel is fed up. I say about time.

Only one of the reasons you listed is completely objective and that is the volume shooter claim.

Our top five scorers are as follows:

WW- 16.3 pts/game
TMG- 14.1 pts/game
TC- 11.5 pts/game
CD- 10.1 pts/game
TG- 10.0 pts/game

Contrast that with shots per min

WW- .36 shots/min
TMG- .33 shots/min
TC- .30 shots/min
CD- .27 shots/min
TG- .31 shots/min

Amount of shots per game

WW- 1.20 more per game than TMG
2.40 more than TC
3.60 more than CD
2.00 more than TG

He is no more of a volume shooter than anyone else when it comes to production from those shots taken.

You clearly don't understand what a volume shooter is.

And they are all objective, b/c I don't want to see Willie fail, or OU to stink. Not like he is my enemy, and it'd be easy to make stuff up b/c I just don't like him. Nothing I said above isn't something that his own coach hasn't said, or hinted out, or is known as fact. Nothing.

You are acting like it takes him lots of shots to produce. That is clearly not the case when compared to his own teammates.

I think maybe this is what is wrong with willie...maybe what he is referring to...This was taken directly off nbadraft.net on willies weaknesses

" He is a bit of a ball stopper on offense, wasting dribbles and also putting up bad shots out of the offense and early in the shot clock
Defensively, he is not ready mentally for the next level, constantly loosing sight of his man and getting beaten of the dribble by inferior athletes …
Has the potential to become a deadly drive and dish player, but he needs to trust his teammates more …
He does not maximize his explosiveness to get by people, rather he plays around with the ball on the perimeter before putting up difficult and contested shots …"

That seals it. Willie dribbling too much and taking bad shots is the sole reason we are 13-14 this year. Granted he hasn't played any in 3 of the last 4 games (all losses). Continue the crucifixion.

nobody is saying that.

I think we have alot of problems...that is just willies problems...we have several issues
1) no rebounding
2) no defense
3) no tough post players

We aren't a great rebounding team, but that hasn't been the problem. You can't look at the stats, b/c the stats don't take into account that we don't stop people from scoring, therefore there are less defensive rebounds available for our team, then for opposing teams.

Most Wille threads start out negative and end with this season being Willie's fault because of numerous reasons factual or fictional. Then it continues to we would be better off without him. Fact is we would not have won a single game on the road without him. I realize that is only one but it is a win on the road. He does have blame, but not nearly the amount that fans lay at his feet. Frankly it is embarassing to see OU "fans" treat one of their own this poorly.

Willie Warren is the biggest factor why OU has been severely disappointing this season. It has been a combination of his attitude, his practice habits, his off the court issues, and his relationship with his teammates. If you can't see that/don't believe me, then you have your head in the sand.

Is Willie the only reason that this team is terrible? Far from it, but it started with him and he paved the way for a lot of the bad habits that these young freshmen developed. He has done very little to help fix some of the correctable issues.

You are right in saying that guys like me expected way too much from Willie Warren. I would venture that Coach Capel did the same. This team and this program will be better off with him gone next year. He and TMG don't function well in the same backcourt on either end of the court and I would take TMG over Willie Warren any day of the week. Give me TMG with Cade and Cam (or a slimmed down Pledger) in the starting backcourt next year and I will show you more wins and a better functioning offense and defense from the guards.
