This is unrelated to the Tulsa Public Schools name thing, and it's offseason, so here's a new thread on a different Wayman Tisdale namesake...

“The memory of him has not faded at all,” said Regina Tisdale, his wife. “It has been nine years, and I still have my moments. He had such a powerful personality.”
That passion, the always-present smile whether on the stage or the basketball court, left what has become a lasting legacy in his hometown of Tulsa.
That includes a handful of events that benefit the Wayman L. Tisdale Foundation, which provides funds for individuals and groups that need help in maintaining prosthetic devices.
Wayman Tisdale Day, a celebration of his life on his birthday, will be held on Saturday at the Agora Event Center, 1402 S. Peoria Ave., Suite 200. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.
It is just one of many events held to benefit the Wayman Tisdale Foundation, including Soul Fest at the Guthrie Green (set for Sept. 29), which drew an overflow crowd estimated by some at 6,000 people last year, and the Jazzy Strokes Golf Tournament.
