We have a really good tv contract

Booger, Mizzou fan lives in the world of what ifs instead of reality. This is what makes Mizzou & aTm a perfect SEC fit. In the great tradition of Ole Miss, Miss St, Vandy, Arkansas, South Carolina, etc they will never win anything. They will substitute any success from other members as their own.

Meanwhile in the real world they are in a pick em game with Okie St after a pinnacle season while OU is playing in the Sugar after a mediocre campaign.

I'm not the one trying to justify my team by the successes and failures of another program.

A one loss OU will almost always be in contention for one of the four playoff spots as we schedule pretty strong overall competition during non-conference games. I don't really care about the others but whorns will probably be the same since they seem to be upgrading their non-conference schedule.

:clap:clap:clap

A good friend of mine is a big Mizzou fan. We were hanging out Saturday and he asked me how did OU get in the BCS over Mizzou? He said Mizzou was screwed. Mizzou would have to win the SEC to ever get an invite because they will never be an at-large. Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and SC with Spurrier will always be higher than Mizzou in the pecking order. I think Tennessee would too if they can get there.

In the big 12, all they had in front of them was OU and Texas and Texas hasn't been close to the BCS in 4 years now.

By not splitting money with "dead weight," Oklahoma might get to keep an extra few million. Not worth it for the competitive disadvantage they deal with playing in a conference few respect anymore.

Conference rankings are very cyclical. Furthermore, the notion that people don't respect the Big XII is laughable. They might not think the Big XII is the best conference in football but it is certainly respected.

OU didn't make a BCS game because they're a "big boy." They made it because the BCS forced the Sugar Bowl's hand.

You are absolutely crazy if you don't think the name Oklahoma has a lot to do with the Sugar Bowl selection.

Mizzou schedule was not the "sec" as the other half... They got off easy this year.

I disagree about Missouri's SEC schedule. They drew A&M and Ole Miss from the west. Those are both bowl eligible teams. Compare that to Alabama who played Kentucky and Tennessee from the east. Neither of those teams are bowl eligible. Ole Miss is a young team that was in competitive games with Auburn, A&M and Miss St. I think Missouri played one of the tougher SEC conference schedules. What other SEC team played two bowl eligible teams from the other division? LSU didn't, Alabama didn't, Auburn didn't. A&M did. Georgia didn't. South Carolina didn't. South Carolina had one of the easiest SEC schedules drawing Arkansas and Miss State.

To me you are basing your comments on the names of the opponents rather than season results.

I think Mizzou and South Carolina's schedule was pretty much the same. They both avoided Auburn, Bama and LSU.

Mizzou played an easier schedule than every team in the SEC WEST because those teams had to play all 3 of Bama, Auburn, and LSU as well as Ole Miss, aTm, and MSU. The only easy game in that division is Arkansas, and we know that's just for the short term because Arkansas will improve, probably at aTm or the Miss schools expense.

So, at best they had the 8th toughest schedule but I'm not prepared to buy that because Georgia played Auburn. Tennessee played LSU and Bama and Florida had LSU as well as non-con vs Florida State. Kentucky played Bama and Louisville in teh non-con and South Carolina played Clemson, so now Mizzou has the 13th toughest schedule in the SEC only ahead of Vandy as far as we know (without looking at Vandy's schedule).

According to this link, Mizzou had the 10th toughest schedule in the SEC.

How about Mizzou fan thinking the Tigers were going to jump Bama in the BCS rankings instead of voters considering the auburn win over Bama a fluke if they lost to little Mizzou? lol

Booger is correct. Mizzou played the easiest schedule possible in the SEC. The only decent team they played away from home was Georgia who was ravaged by injuries.

they would have jumped bama .. almost no doubt

I give the voters more credit than that. Everybody on the face of the earth knows Bama is better. They both would of had 1 loss with Bama's coming on the road to their arch rival due to missing 4 field goals with the last one run back for the fluke winning score & Mizzou losing at home.

Anyway it's meaningless speculation after Auburn blew them out just like OU did in 2007. Neither time was Missouri a legit contender.

and mizzou would have been at home without their starting qb by missing a fg in overtime ..

I don't know that Mizzou really would have jumped Bama, I bet it would have been real close.

Little Gary Pinkel is just happy he doesn't have to play Stoops anymore.

I'm just glad I can get OU Men's Basketball games on a couple of Fox Sports Net affiliates that we get in Albuquerque (Denver and Phoenix). We will get the game live tomorrow night out of Denver, and on tape delay at 8:30 p.m. MST out of Phoenix.

Funny how a couple years change things (as I've probably mentioned before). We've gone from Mizzou can't compete in the SEC. They'll be lucky to occasionally be in the middle tier. to Yeah, Mizzou won 11 games, but their schedule was so easy. They would've been lucky to finish 3rd in the BCS.

But let's get back to the real point: TV. I found this interesting:

Sadly, driving to Norman for every home game is not feasible for me, so being able to watch them without being there is a blessing

What? BCS forced the Sugar Bowl's hand? I don't know what you meant by that but I can only assume you mean because OU was ranked in the top 14 they had to take OU. Which isn't true. Oregon was ranked ahead. Oregon is probably the better team between the two. Yet, OU got the nod. You can only attribute that to Oklahoma being a big name in the college football scene. If you meant something else by that statement, please clarify.
