We won!!!!!!!

The difference in the second half, was simply being an aggressive basketball team. I have never seen a college basketball team stand around and be so flat footed while people are driving to the rim at will all season. All I keep hearing about is these guards that we play are just so fast and incredible. How about we have players standing flat footed and once they get by are players don't even find a man to block out for maybe a thing called a rebound. I would rather every starter foul out every game, then to lose on at will drives to the basket.

Good points.. I posted in another thread that TMG is far too quick/athletic, to get beat off the dribble so much. It has to be technique/effort when your lighting quick PG gets abused off the dribble by every team that you play.....

Sorry guys, moral victories are for losers. Its not like we even got it to single digits.

Even though this is Basketball, those comments were abundant during the Blake years. Have we really sunk that far?

The youth and experience that these kids are getting will be invaluable next year but winning a half of Basketball is not any victory to get too excited about.

:ez-laugh:

Whatever.

I agree. And offensively I think TMG settles for long jumpers way too much. He's too good off the dribble for that. It really looked like he learned something tonight from watching Sherron. First half TMG just shot long jumpers...2nd half he started penetrating and getting to the cup. Hopefully he can build off that.

Yep. I noticed that to. Kind of like big brother teaching lil brother a few things, then watching lil brother grow up:). TMG actually has a skill set and physical stature that makes me think that he will someday be the same caliber of PG as Collins. TMG shoots better, but is not close in the defensive category, and the running a team category. He will get there I believe.

Pretty big understatement, Jmizzy. It won't take long for that, at all.

Good post though. The things Collins brings outside of ability is something TMG can learn from.

i think part of his hesitation to go to the hole is of how many shots have been blocked.

I believe that you are correct. TMG already is a shooter and very quick with the ball in his hands. He will learn to lead his team like Collins does, hopefully Sooner than later.

Yes, and the fact that most teams are starting to double him up high, trying to force the ball out of his hands. If we had more consistent offensive weapons, they could not get away with doubling TMG. He will learn to make teams pay for doubling him out near the 3 pt line....

Every time they double him, I wonder why no one slides to the paint for an easy dunk/layup.

I have to admit that I tried hard to be positive going into this game tonight and failed. Had ugly visions of lambs to the slaughter. Been that kind of season, I guess. If this is what comes from my negativity, I promise to be as negative as possible going into every game from here on out. Great effort guys, and maybe for the first time since the ut win, a glimmer of hope. :clap :woot

Right there with ya. He's gaining so much experience despite our teams struggles. He definitely has the talent.

Exactly. The greatness that is Sherron Collins is what's between his ears and in his chest not his physical ability.

We do have guys moving toward the basket for an open look. The problem is that TMG is so small he can't make that pass over the defenders. It's a tough bounce pass to make around the double team.

3 freshmen playing against Kansas almost even-up in the second half. Did OU ever have 4 freshmen playing at once? I can't recall.

Just heard Coach Capel on the radio post-game say there were 4 freshman and a junior on the floor at times.

I am pretty sure I saw all four of them on the court with Crocker at least once.

Not sure if that is it. Alot of small PG's make the pass. Right now he tries to dribble through most every double team, and the bigs are not sliding aggressively to the open area. I could be wrong, but that is what I saw several times tonight.

Historically, you beat double teams by attacking the rim with quick passes, which catch the defense out of position. Trying to dribble through EVERY time, and not having bigs who roll towards the rim causes turnovers. I guess that what I'm saying is that he will learn to recognize the double before it traps him, and the other guys will learn to help him before he gets trapped by 2 guys.

ya someone has a man crush on Collins. TMG is already as good as Collins, what would TMG look like with KU's supporting cast?

You are saying TMG is better than Sherron Collins right now and I'm the one with the man crush? :dance005:
Trade Sherron Collins for TMG and OU is in the Big Dance.
