Anyone know
They showed the replay from a different angle. He wasn't demonstrative at all, but you could see him mumbling something under his breath....probably something like "that was bullsh..t".
Probably one more word in there immediately preceding bullsh@t” but I think you are right.
Yep....always need to have that modifier.
Why do officials hate adjectives and adverbs? They add color to language. Nouns and verbs only would be boring.
It's not the official's fault. You have to be more disciplined than that. Blaming the ref is really pathetic.
Not blaming the officials, but I wonder if in a non-COVID year that would even be heard by the official, and, therefore, not be called. Typically, if you are not showing up the officials they should not be calling T's for words.
Just one more adjustment to a COVID year.
If Stikboy is correct and Reaves said something mentioning the ref's mother you don't think that should warrant a technical foul?
Mother yes, but I thought Stikboy was being flippant. Of course there are words that should get you a T, but saying a call was BS without showing up the official - no. Reaves was laying on the floor, at no time was the official being showed up and, unless he uttered something about the ref's mother - then I stand by my comment. I'd be much more likely to T a kid up when they jump around and throw their arms up in the air.
Just watched again - 7:50 mark of the first half. He was on the ground when the T was whistled. Unless he dog cussed his mother, the T was not warranted in my opinionWhen I get home I'll watch it again but I'm pretty sure Reaves was standing up when he said whatever he said to the official.

Was flat on his stomach when he said whatever he said. Given the fact that he did not do anything remotely demonstrative, I tend to agree with the announcers, who guessed that he said one of the magic words (or combo of words). I don't know exactly what the tolerance level is for college refs -- in pro sports, you can definitely drop an F-bomb and not get a technical, unless it is followed by the word "you." I suspect college refs are much more likely to T a guy up for something along the lines of "that call is f***ing bullsh*t." Also agree with 04 -- Reaves has a bit of a reputation so his leash is much shorter than most players.
