What does Lon do for an encore?

NCAA? We were one of the 3 worst teams in the league this year. We are just going to suddenly become a top 64 team in 1 year?

The players, coaches and fans have all made comments indicating that M'Baye will be one of the best players on the team. One of OU's biggest problems was depth. The addition of M'Baye, Hield and Hornbeak should really help with depth. Another problem was 3 point shooting. M'Baye is supposed to be able to shoot the 3. Hiled is a good shooter. OU has two scholarships to give and could land a 3 point shooter with one of them.

I don't think it is a huge stretch to say OU can or even will make the NCAA Tournament next season.

Every year at least 1 player transfers. I really hope that trend stops.

I think that's pretty much the truth in college athletics now. Particularly college basketball. Just about every school has a player transfer or leave early or whatever. A bunch have more than one player leave.

OU lost 7 games by 10 points or less this season, so we had some winnable games that got away (@A&M in particular). In other cases, we just played really badly against teams that we could beat (@Tech). So, is winning 19-20 games unrealistic? I don't think so. With an extra year of experience and preparation, I think we can pick up 4 or 5 games and become a more consistent team.

The biggest problems that I see are at the guard positions. The 4 and 5 spots look very good to me, both scoring and rebounding wise. Osby and Fitzgerald were a good combo at the end of the season, and the addition of M'Baye will only strengthen that group. But, aside from Pledger, what guard scores on a consistent basis? Answer: no one. Grooms does a nice job of handling the PG spot, but isn't a scorer. Hopefully Hornbeak and Hield can add some offense, or Clark/Neal can be more consistent at the SF position. IMO, consistent offensive production from one or two more guards is essential to becoming a 20+ win, NCAA tournament team.

I pretty much agree with you. It'd be nice to make sure we had a 4th big that was better than Arent, but I like our inside guys okay. The questions are at the guard spots. Does Grooms improve his shooting % at all? Can Cam regain his freshman form or better? What will Hield/Hornbeak give us next year? Will Neal shoot it a big more consistently? Not much question with Pledger, I think we know what to expect out of him.
