What if Trae had not signed with OU?
And Lon was looking at back to back 10-13 win seasons with next year not looking a whole lot better. How hot would his seat be?

What if we wouldve hired Frank Martin or kept Jeff Capel?

what if we were not currently in the top 25 and a top 4 ncaa seed

We don't know how the team might've been without Trae. He's obviously been huge for us, but there' s no telling how the team might have progressed (or not) without him. McGusty, for one, might have been contributing more, and other players, too, would have been called upon to contribute more. Would they have been able to step up? Hard to say; we can't really know.

But I don't think it's a mathematical equation where you can just subtract Trae's points and know for certain what kind of team we would have been.

What if Kobe would've stayed with the Hornets?

Or OKC stayed in Seattle?

My biggest what if with this team is: What if Doolittle didn't plagiarize on that paper? Cause him being his normal self is what this team is missing right now.

I don’t like the way we are playing lately but I will wait until the season is over before what-iffing. We are still a dangerous team depending on match-ups. We are still much better than last year no matter what. And, no, there would be no hot seat no matter what.

Thats what I don't like. That Lon is untouchable.
I get he is a good coach and is great at turning around programs.
But I'm just not a fan of his actual coaching or development.
And I dont' really see the talent getting better anytime soon. SO I think OU is going to be mediocre for as long as he is here.
We need to find the Lincoln riley of basketball to get recruiting going

Actually, most observers have been pleasantly surprised by his recruiting and it's been on the upswing of late.

I really do think we were hurt by the departure of our assistants a couple of years back, especially Henson. Coach Kruger is a pretty mellow coach and definitely a positive one. I fear we're missing Henson's bad-cop to Lon's good-cop.

So to summarize, you don't think he is good at coaching, developing players, or recruiting talent. If that's how you feel, then how did we get to the Final Four? If it wasn't talent, coaching, or developing players, was it dumb luck? Also, did guys like Buddy and Isaiah just make huge improvement during their careers in spite of Lon?

What if ...

...we feed mayonnaise to tuna fish?

What if we wouldve hired Frank Martin or kept Jeff Capel?

Frank Martin would likely have gone full "Bobby Knight" on a student athlete by now.

Capel would have us on continual probation.

In short, yes.

That guy will take a bigger job in a flash. We don’t invest in hoops like the top 10 programs do. We have a bunch of ****ty ass fans who don’t support the program only bash it. The delusion is real among ou’s fanbase.
